I suspect he was listening to the polls more than the vets, this was a non starter from the beginning. That fact that they tested it publicly is sad (I don't care whether it started with Bush, he is irrelevant now).

This was never going to happen, it was floated so he could appear that he was listening to the "troops" and turn it down. What a transparent douche.

Well, Hope and Change wanted to unify Washington and this plan certainly unified both democrats and republicans against it. Maybe that was the plan all along.

Gates announced they're stopping the "Stop Loss" program ( this program mandated soldiers to extend their tour of duty) starting in 2011:cool: Also, the soldier will be paid $500.00 per month served "overtime". $500.00 a month doesn't even begin to compensate the troops for being forced to serve extra time, though it's better than the zero compensation they received before.

I'm very glad this nonsensical bs about vets' HC is dead,at least for now. "Right wing spin" my a*.

Pelosi's cheering the illegal immigrants, calling them True Patriots, while this administration targets our troops as sources of finding a little extra dinero:mad: Absolutely pathetic.
