Gore did everything possible to get military ballots disallowed in FL in 2000. Some Dem sec of states have mailed out ballots late to the military, this is not new and is SOP for the dems.

Why does the military in Ohio need to have 8 days to vote??? Why not give everyone the full 8 days???

They already have 5 days to do so as voting in Ohio starts on Friday. Most of us have only 1 day, which seems quite sufficient.

But it is from the Dead Breitbarts, so it is probably a distortion.. but the right does not vette these stories, they just believe and all the bloggers just follow along.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Looks like the right is duped again.. the lawsuit seeks to treat everyone the same, not penalize the military voters...

One might think that after all these gaffes offered by Breitbart and the Gateway Boys they would understand the adage that if it sounds too good to be true it usually is..

Read it and weep boyz, again and again..

An antidote may be that all of the haters and believers of Breitbart, Gateway Pundit and the rest of the half truth blogs should be locked into a room and forced to listen to "Baba O'Riley" a couple of hundred times at 100 decibels.. perhaps they they will begin to understand how vulnerable they are.

Appears as though Romney was Breitbarted, rather than doing the "hard" work.. he posted on Facebook..

    The actual lawsuit...

The Obama campaign’s request for a preliminary injunction does not seek to restrict military voting. Rather, it simply is asking that the full early voting period be open to all citizens, as it was under the law before this year.

Even Fox News acknowledges the purpose of the suit, noting “the lawsuit does not restrict the ability of military personnel to cast their ballots early.”

The people in the military have constraints that civilians never have to deal with in terms of their time and location.

They also have put themselves in harm's way in a way most civilians never have to face.

Many who have never served have trouble identifying with what this means.

The administration falls into this group apparently, as well as posters who have never served.

So all that means you are ok with Breitbart publishing an obviously false story?

The right continues to fall for the lies and hysteria of the bloggers..

Romney has no experience in dealing with the military, after all 0, nada, zilch family members have ever served in the military.. that is a true anomaly in this day and age. But he did see one at Holiday Inn last night.. he is just another neo con panderer.. see Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle and the rest of that crew that loves to go to war just as long as it does not involve them or their families..

They are not seeking to take away their opportunity, just extend the same to all voters of Ohio... Ohio chose to restrict those not in the military...

FYI these are not on foreign soil or different states, but US based military personnel... those away from home can avail themselves of absentee voting..

The states make the rules for voting not the Obama campaign.

5 days are fine for civilians.

This only affects 8k votes if all participate and ~ 40% voted for Obama last time. So the number of votes isn't real significant but the principle is. Send a message to those who don't feel that people who give their lives for the rest of us deserve some consideration.

Why not extend it to policemen, firemen and anyone else in Ohio???.. you are talking about armed forces stationed in Ohio.. not overseas or in other states.

You claim this is only 8K votes, but the brouhaha in Florida only had to do with 41 votes that were found to be incorrectly registered.

It makes no sense, Ohio took this privilege away from all of its citizens except the military.. capiche????

    Reason:
The Left Wing hates the military.

The Military knows the Left Wing Hates Them.

The Left Wing knows the Military knows they hate them.

The Military won't vote for people that they know hates them.

Gee I don't know are they subject to deployment for Temporary duty (TDI) around the country and around the world?

    MY guess is no.

Just a question but if a military personnel who was normally stationed in Ohio but was deployed to another state or a foreign country automatically be considered as being out-of-state or out-of-country as soon as that deployment took place and be given the longer term absentee voting privledges accordingly?

Sounds hard to administer. The real question is why the administration is doing this to service people.

They're not doing anything to service people. They're trying to keep the rules the way they've always been - which has been the same for everyone.

They aren't taking time away from military personnel, they're suing to keep the early voting time period the same for civilian people.

Military personnel wasn't even mentioned in the suit.

You are quite blind to the issue here, they are not trying to take anything away from anyone.. they are trying to restore this privilege to all Ohioans who had it taken away...

Stop relying on Breitbart and the rest of the right wing blogs, and use reason and the links provided..
