For Colts 2nd Rd pick in 2013,per NFLN
was just considering posting this.
Nice value in return for MIA, but they'll be easier to pass on in 2012 now.
Finheaven are raging about this trade and are saying they should have got at least Reggie Wayne for him and they could have got Mike Wallace in a straight swap for Davis
For a split second, my "f*** the Colts" instincts kicked, before realizing that the Peyton/Polian era is over and the Dolphins are the bigger concern by default of being a division foe. So I like this development, at least in the short term, even though our Pats still have to face Davis this season.
So this is the big trade that that imbecile couldn't contain himself about?
What a clown.
Will Allen will likely take Davis' spot.
TO released by Seahawks,also(lol)
Am I the only one that thinks this is a good trade for the Colts? We all know how good CBs are hard to come by these days and just how important they are, and Davis when he's on his game is a good CB imo. The chances of them hitting on a second round pick that turns out better than Davis is slim.
Solid trade for the Colts, not sure I understand the trade for the Dolphins. Why trade away your pretty good #1 CB on a top 10 defense (he's better than any CB we have)
Vontae Davis isn't a _good_ CB. He's an above average CB with freaky athletic abilities. I put him in that Antonio Cromartie group.
Wasn't Davis just demoted to being the 3rd corner after an abysmal camp and horrible preseason games? lol Dolphins robbed the Colts.
To further prove that point;
Irsay gets defensive in response to Twitter criticism | ProFootballTalk
“If u don’t like it buy ur own team and try to make the playoffs 9 seasons n a row n put together 7 straight 12 win seasons n a row as Owner!”
And then he declared victory, and he presumably has retreated: “U can do all your judgmental chirpin’ U want,it’s not about subjective opinions…it what you DO n what your track record shows! CHECKMATE!“
Spoken like the rich guys idiot entitled child that he is.
The LOLphins will be lucky to win four games this season. Hopefully, at least one will be against the NY Jesters.
Irsay was the GM, Coach, and players?
He ran his mouth and wrote the checks while cashing his own. Now he's taking credit for the people who truly ran that organization, anyone with eyes can see that it isn't Irsay.
MJD stays with the Jaguars for another day.
Billy Cundiff cut too.
I know i'm more of a lurker than a regular poster here,
I'm also a man of principal I was very wrong about Welker to Colts.
I feel like a idiot cause I've been proclaiming it as a done deal on here as well as to my friends, coworkers.
I was wrong
What a clown.
The NFL is a buzz with news of this big trade.
You were likely duped by Incarcerated Bob.
LOLphins looking worse by the day.
Agree. He's not a legit #1 CB, more of a solid #2 who will occasionally play like a shutdown corner when he is motivated but who will want to get paid like a true #1. A high 2nd round pick is pretty good value for him, IMO. The Phins know that the aren't going to contend this year.
How did Irsay get the money to own an NFL franchise? He acts like a 12 year old on a message board.
This is a great trade for the Colts. Davis has the talent to be a #1 shutdown corner.
More like a drunk frat boy during rush week.
Good pickup for the Colts. Miami gets worse in the short term but they aren't legit contenders anyway so not a terrible move for them. They weren't getting a 1st for him so a 2nd seems reasonable.
The value of CBs in general is at an all time high. And he's only 24 with pretty huge upside. Even if he's somewhere between a #1 and a #2 CB that's not particularly great value for the phins imo especially since Ireland is bad at drafting.
This is the "trade winds" that are hot and whipping fiercely?
About as warm and as fierce as my breath during an intense yawn.
How utterly anti-climatic.
I've always liked Davis. He;s the kind of big physical CB that I think every team should have at least a couple of. I think its silly to argue about whether he's as #1 or #2. All I know is that he'd get a lot of snaps on defense if he played for the Pats.
So that's my question. We know what the Dolphins and Colts valued Davis. What would have YOU paid for Davis' services. And how would he fit in.?
Dolphins now have a 1st, 2 x 2nds, 2 x 3rds in next years draft. From the perspective of someone who loves the draft, they'll be fun to mock next year.
