    Back in the days before the artificial easiness of mortgage credit -- and no such thing as "pulse loans" (anyone with a mere pulse could get one, thanks to the .. ahem... Congressional legislation (sic) ) -- which caused the price of housing to inflate at 2, 3, 4, or even 5 times the non-housing inflation rate, homes were not cheap but they were sensibly priced.

    Now a home that cost more than $400,000 a couple of years ago may be had for only $85,000.

    THAT'S more like it!!!
