Follow up to Wikipedia sucks from across the pond, this points to the CIA doing some work on this site.. even the Vatican is getting involved, wait until the moonies find out about this stuff.. nothing will ever be the same.

An online tool that claims to reveal the identity of organisations that edit Wikipedia pages has revealed that the CIA was involved in editing entries.
Wikipedia Scanner allegedly shows that workers on the agency's computers made edits to the page of Iran's president.

It also purportedly shows that the Vatican has edited entries about Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams.

The tool, developed by US researchers, trawls a list of 5.3m edits and matches them to the net address of the editor.

Wikipedia is a free online encyclopaedia that can be created and edited by anyone.

Most of the edits detected by the scanner correct spelling mistakes or factual inaccuracies in profiles. However, others have been used to remove potentially damaging material or to deface sites.

This little online tool has caused quite the stir............

EVERYONE in the political blogsphere is bumbling around, screaming about all the Wiki edits and how dishonest the "other side is". Seems as if everybody has edited Wiki pages at one time or another

CIA, CBS, FOX, Reuters, NYT................... blaa, blaa, blaa

It's even funnier that the Beeb is reporting the CIA link, since I'm almost certain I saw them posed in wiki edit moment as well. I could be wrong, and it's too exhausting to go through them all.

From what I can tell, all these silly 1-3 words edits, are quickly re-edited to erase the silly comment or word.

I find the whole thing rather amusing. It's like peeling back the curtain a bid and busting all the silly propagandists masturbating furiously behind the scenes. :D
