Not for the firings stuff, but because he is weak on immigration... http://www.myfoxcolorado.com/myfox/...n=2&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=3.2.1 DENVER -- Colorado Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo today joined a number of other lawmakers in calling for the resignation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, citing what he calls "leadership failures" on illegal immigration -- more than the firing of eight U-S attorneys. Gonzales's job security has been in question in recent days as members of Congress demanded to know whether the decision to fire those prosecutors was a Bush administration purge to install political cronies in plum jobs. Tancredo says he doesn't believe Gonzales' handling of the prosecutors' firings alone warrants his dismissal. But Tancredo says the situation is the latest in a series of leadership failures at the Justice Department, chiefly the handling of illegal immigration prosecutions. Tancredo says Gonzales' legacy at the D-O-J has been one of misplaced priorities, political miscalculation, and a failure to enforce the laws he has sworn to uphold. Tancredo says it's time for him to move on.
