Thanks for posting this. Makes sense now why Wes is so quick around the field.

I wonder if we'll ever get pictures of Wes and Randy kicking around a soccer ball.

I love Wes's gee whiz attitude. Despite being tied for number one in reception and having the highest percent of balls caught to balls thrown to him, he seems surprised Moss views him as a an equal.

Yeah, Walker has a great attitude, equally impressive is Moss. A first round draft pick and multiple pro bowler seeking out ways to improve his game.

I can totally see the soccer connection. I wonder if we'll be able to notice a difference in Randy's game next year?

I am pretty excited to see it.

Great article. Also isn't it amazing how Moss' image has transformed over the past year. I had always wanted him on the team but not in my wildest dreams would have figured he would have transitioned in so effortlessly. Also, Welker is the man. He's like Troy v2.0.

Thank goodness for Mike Reiss. I honestly think he is the only reporter that probably really understands how Pats fans feel. We don't need likes of Bob Ryan to sit on his high horse and talk down on us about cameragate, yet again. So refreshing to hear about actual story that isn't 9 month old regarding Pats.

Very pleasing story. Increases my respect for three people simultaneously: Moss, Welker and Reiss.

I was looking back at the game day threads the other day, and in the Jets-patriots opener, I was laughing at all the threads that said "another drop by welker" " come on welker, calm down". Funny how great he turned out for us.

    That was a great article.

What the contrarians don't seem to understand is that coaches and players aren't going to confide in you if they feel they can't trust you.

It isn't about kissing up to them, it's about building trust. If you are a Patriots coach or players, are you going to trust Tomase? Felger? Ryan? Masserotti? I don't think so. I hope the Patriots freeze out all the bastards that went after them unfairly.

Its good to see Randy working hard this year after signing the big contract. That will put an end to those who said he wouldn't.

This is consistent with Randy's desire to run more inside routes ("If they whiff, it's six"). Randy asked Welker how he was so fluid at making those cuts needed for the middle of the field so now that Welker revealed his secret, Moss is giving soccer a try.

I love reading a sequence of stories like this.

    Regards,
    Chris

Doing drills with a "soccer" ball also does wonders for your cardio. Coaches now favour high intensity work with the ball over running laps, timed distances, 20 mins on the bike or some other crap. It's something else I think it gives Welker, he may be quick and his cuts are so sharp DB's need to watch their limbs, but you get the feeling Welker can keep going and going, run off and play another game straight after. He's like the energizer bunny on speed.

Be interesting to see if Moss finds it adds another dimension to his game.
