WASHINGTON, Feb. 12 — The newspaper columnist Robert D. Novak testified today that two high officials in the Bush administration told him the identity of a C.I.A. agent whose unmasking touch off a scandal, but that Vice President Dick Cheney’s former chief of staff, I. Lewis Libby Jr., did not.

Mr. Novak recalled in Federal District Court how former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage and the White House political adviser Karl Rove told him the identity of the covert agent, Valerie Wilson. But, Mr. Novak said, “I got no help or no confirmation from Mr. Libby on that issue.”

    oh man.
The question is will Cheney and Bush be able to get out alive? Even if guys try to take the fall for them, it's still up in the air.

Forget Bush...the entirety of the viability of this administration lies on Cheney alone. If he goes down, the entire apparatus is in shambles.

Methinks we are witnessing the unravelling of Dick Cheney's neo-con cabal that Larry Wilkerson spoke of.

"....And, of course, there are other names in there, Under Secretary of Defense Douglas Feith, whom most of you probably know Tommy Franks said was stupidest blankety blank man in the world. He was. Let me testify to that. He was. Seldom in my life have I met a dumber man.":bricks:

and yet he was running Cheney's super double-secret inner circle of intelligence that was getting the "real" intel that those b*stards at the CIA were all missing...

the "stupidest f***ing man in the world"... how utterly, poetically, fitting...
