Please start Andy Levitre in game one. Seymour will knock him back to yesterday if he doesn't get out of his way.

I was wondering why they decided to go to no huddle this year. I think we know why now.

The first play of the season... line up Brace and Wilfork and have everyone else drop back into coverage.

Thought the same thing... Levitre was "supposedly" on NE's radar...

I could have sworn he was playing center. But, in any event, it doesn't matter. With technique like that, it doesn't matter if he's going up against Seymour, Wilfork, Warren, or Brace... he's getting run over.

Fixed your post for you. . . . the Pats just drafted a safety who can pancake OLs, too. ;)

Funny stuff and all but it was pre-season game one of FIVE for them. He'll get that stuff smoothed out. I just hope we're not all jumping from buildings when we stink up a pre-season game or two.

This is Patsfans.com. History tells us that if the Patriots are 15-0 heading into the last game and have a 56-0 lead with 2 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, someone will probably post "They suck!" if the defense surrenders a 1 yard completion on a screen pass.

Uh-oh...the Pats may have a Levitre of their own but hopefully it's because he just got off PUP. At least Ohrenberger is a 4th rounder, Levitre went in the second:

    From the Globe:

Richard Seymour looked un-blockable at times; on one snap, he bulldozed rookie Rich Ohrnberger back into the orange cone that was the “quarterback.”

seymour does that to alot of established vets........

there's a reason the bills are practicing no-huddle so much......they already know they can't keep defenses off of their QB......every position on their OL is being played by someone different from last year........

their defense will be spending 40min a game on the field

I know it was just one game, but Buffalo's O-line looks pretty terrible.

Finally, someone who's got some sense. It was ONE play. If you watch the rest of the game, he actually did pretty well. I thought the first team offense and the first team defense did pretty well too. Of course they have a lot of work to do.

It was great to finally see some live NFL action. It's going to be a very interesting year. Getcha popcorn ready!

Buffalo's run defense looked good, but I didn't see much pass defense. On offense, TO did get open on a couple of plays, but I think the Pats will be able to contain him. Other than that, I didn't see much (excpet for the INT which caused everyone in the room to murmur, "There's the Buffalo we know.") Don't worry, we'll all have our popcorn ready on opening night

    No Jersey Selected

Heck, my favorite was Tennessee's fake punt. THAT play went perfect and made for some great watching. Not often a kicker gets to run one in for a touchdown... :)

That no huddle crap is going to kill them - Their players won't be able to walk by the 4th QTR.

Can't wait - and now Bill knows what they are going to do.......oh goodness.

The thing about the "no huddle" is your own players have to know what they are doing in order for it to be successful, which did not appear to be the case last night. It was only the first preseason game, but unless they get a lot sharper, the no huddle is going to hurt Buffalo more than help them.

It looked good at first but you could see signs of it breaking down. During the season, I don't see how their pass defense couldn't be at least decent when looking at their cornerbacks.

You can say what you want but he never let the guy past him and Trent could have thrown the ball earleir.

Levitre will start and made several key blocks in that game, as for Seymour, we will see.

    Dude, Levitre got owned. Completely.

He was a rookie starting his first exhibition game, and it shouldn't be anything to panic about, but don't start with the lame apologies already, for crying out loud. J

The starters were only in on that one drive. For what it's worth, they drove the ball 50 yards in 8 plays against a very good defense. Of course, it ended in an interception, but they showed some good things.

Buffalo has a very good secondary...very good. But without a pass rush, that might not matter, and Buffalo hasn't shown signs of a good pass rush even with the return of Schobel. I don't think Maybin will save them this year. The Bills corners give their man a big cushion and play cover 2 a lot, but what they don't seem to realize is that these schemes aren't exactly effective when you can't consistently generate a pass rush.

The Bills are using the no huddle to keep defenses off balance, disallow subsitutions, create mismatches, and tire out opposing defenses. If it works...if it works, it should help our raw offense line out and maybe disguise some of its weakness. Huge fat guys are easier to block when they are tired. On the other hand, if it doesn't work too well, the only people that are going to be tired is the Bills defense from being in there so much. 3-and-out in the no-huddle doesn't take very long.

We'll see what happens. It should at least be interesting. The Bills do have a lot of offensive weapons. They're stoked at RB and WR.

Not that I was paying a huge amount of attention, but weren't most of the starters still in there when Johnson broke off that huge run to the outside then LenDale White punched it in?

LOL, it's hard to be enthralled by a preseason game.

I was talking about the offense. The Bills offense was only in there for one series that lasted about four and a half minutes.

I think most of the Bills starters were in there on defense for the Titans first two drives. Seems like the same old Bills to me - blow an easy interception on the first drive only to get beat on a 4th and 12 play for a TD (something like that). Give up a third and 15...stuff like that.

Oh yeah, I saw that. Getting a glimpse at the Bills' skill players was pretty much the only reason that I tuned into that game. I stuck with it because I realized just how badly I missed football. :)

As for the defense, better hope they get that figured out by Week 1 (assuming you are a Bills fan).

I don't understand the fascination with trying to equate preseason results with regular season potential. You never know what coaches are trying to do or what they are really working on. And I know it sounds silly but what they are trying to do isn't always what is best thing to do to improve their chances of winning.

Plus when you factor in combinations of guys that will be used in situations that they probably would not be used in the regular season. Guys playing against 2nd or 3rd string talent and looking good etc...

There are too many things going on that would never go on during a regular season game to come to a solid conclusion.
