It's been noted here that Maroney ran tough, ran smart, ran with confidence, and that he doubled the yardage output of Jones-Drew and Taylor. Let me tell you something, there are a couple of other great stories there besides the surging of Maroney.
How about the clever play calling, the attitude of the OL, the attitude of the coaches to say, "Let's stick it to them and show them that we can run the ball.", and the smarts to give Indy one more problem to game-plan?
Another great story line on the other side of this equation is the way the defense that "can't stop the run" (barf) stoned one of the best running duos in the league. When will people learn to learn? We have some all pros on that defense and when they have the right game plan, or make the right adjustment at the half, they can stop the run cold.
Another great story line is the Kevin Faulk story. That guy just takes over portions of games and torches the defense like few third down backs. Yes, Ben Dreith, Faulk gave the Jags the frickin business and there's nothing you can call on him except kudos.
That offensive game plan was a masterpiece. We watched the buffoons' version of Masterpiece Theater last night.
