Belichick always shuffles the bottom of the roster after the 53 is declared.

IN: Salas, the HOOMAN, and Hillard

OUT: Carpenter (the 17th front seven defensive player)

DELAYED: Shiancoe to designated IR

And yes, we claimed someone off waivers for a tryout and then cut him.

The deck might be cut more often than "Edward Scissor Hands" trying to play solitaire, after the first game and vet contracts won't be guaranteed for the year

So Belichick spent the one silver bullet already on Schiancoe today by naming him our one and only IR exemption?

I'm just walking in the door and didn't hear anything about it yet. To me that is kind of disappointing, as I would not have used it at this time or on the specific player.

Edit: Nevermind, I just saw it. Wow, Belichick must be pretty high on that #4th TE. I suppose we'll be seeing 3 active TE's a lot much more than last year.
