Okay, someone had to be the bonehead and make the post.

Seriously, no way he makes the team. Too slow for outside linebacker, too short with short arms for inside linebacker and line. Unless he can beat out Pass for FB it's over... Unless Belichcick can Super-Size him into a McKlecko he's finished....Mangina can grab him if he wants...they are about the same size anyways.

after this years performance I don't think you are gonna get much argument.

What performance? :D

In a very bizarre sense, we can pin our very disappointing season on Klecko.

In the Carolina game, with 2nd inches in the red zone, Klecko was called an inexcusable holding. Instead of first and goal, Brady faced second and long, and threw an interception on the next play. Instead of being down 14, Carolina came back, tied the game, and went on to win the game. We had the momentum and I had no doubt we would have pushed Carolina to the brink if not for Klecko's bone-headed play.

That game set the stage for our up and down season. If we had won that game, and together with winning the last Miami game and maybe the KC game, we would have 13 wins and possibly the home field in the playoff.

Been waiting, sadly, for this thread to arrive.

For 3 seasons i've been a cheerleader for Danny Boy. But now even i think ... it's over. He hasn't carved out a place for himself here.

Maybe even use the roster spot for a kickoff specialist. (But there'll be better uses for it!)

Perhaps Daddy Joe becomes a coach for Mangini and they live happily ever after.

he had his shot and blew it

Ah, yes, the Ron Borges school of pigskin prediction. Keep saying it year after year, and eventually you will be right. Klecko should retire (a Patriot) in 2012 or 2013, and then you can say, "See, I told you so!"

Even the David Patten (no way Patten makes this team) folks were right eventually. Of course, he didn't make the team because he was offered more $$$ than the Pats could afford...

Yeah, most football analysts will agree that one play made in the second game of the season determines Home Field Advantage in the playoffs. Tell us someething we don't already know.

As yet another of the major Klecko boosters, I hate to say it, but I agree. The odds #90 sticks around are long indeed.

If klecko makes the '06 team it's a leading indicator we're NOT a strong squad. Said it last year and it holds true for this coming season as well. Let him play for Mangia in NY.

Looking ahead 8 months down the road, I would have to agree.

However, I'll keep my powder dry until I hear what role BB may have for the guy,if any. There is one thing for sure, Dan will give the 110% effort to try and make the team.

I am starting to believe that is so true...Guess the Klecko at ILB experiment is over...do you think they may try that?? He might be more suited there in time..but I agree unless he can FIND a position and be strong in it..he is history!! But blaming the season on HIM??? LOL...a BIT of a stretch....

That penalty really hurt, I remember screaming at the TV like it was last night. But really, Klecko is so far down on the order of importance now that whether he makes the team or nor is irrelevant, he just doesn't matter enough.

He's a JAG waiting to happen, no malice intended. In fact, I appreciate high effort guys like Dan, but he has not had, and most likely never will have, any significant impact on the fate of the Patriots.

I was one of the vehement "Klecko makes this team!" guys last season. in 2006? I'm with you guys, Klecko doesn't have much of a shot. He's just been... useless. Love the kid, but I'm not sure he's cut out for this.

I'm not even sure why he has been on the team for as long as he has. Perhaps he has compromising pics of BB?

D. Klecko ought to be eternally grateful that he has something his far superior talented-Dad, never got - an SB ring.

Ciao, Danny. A nice potential story that just wasn't.

He will be traded to the jets for a conditional 6th.:)

Klecko has contributed absolutely zero value to the Patriots over the last 3 years. He is as good as gone, and would have been gone if Ethan Kelly wasn't lazy.

I agee completely, he just isn't an NFL caliber player. I say Don Davis stays though, and everyone always shuts me down on that one, so who knows?
