Why does it surprise you that conservative radio has a bigger following? Not for nothing, but radio ratings don't mean that much in a world with TV & the Internet. Conservatives, generally older than liberals, are more avid radio listeners.

Limbaugh and Shultz are both dinosaurs.

There are 10 million people in NYC. Over 90% are Democrats.

The 200,000 or so pathetic Republicans have no other social life except to spend their time locked up in their crummy little room listening to Rush Limbaugh.

Air America Radio will lose its New York flagship station, WLIB-AM, on Aug. 31. While the left-leaning radio network’s original lease for the Inner City station ran out March 31, AAR managed to get an extension which only lasts until Aug. 31, according to an informed source.

Whoa! Air America's NY ratings just dropped another 33% to BELOW 1% of the market in NY. This is a crisis because you know in your hearts that whiny liberals in desperation will try to ressurect the bogus 'fairness doctrine' in a pathetic attempt to force liberal indoctrination over the airwaves. Help keep Air America on the air, despite themselves.

Right wing indoctrination clearly has a headstart, and it seems to be effective in convincing righties to be loud and insulting, but not in providing arguments to prop up the idiot they elected into the White House.

That said, like any business, Air America and the Ed Schultz show are doing better in some markets than in others. I'm sure they're still developing a business model, and it's hard to tell how they are doing compared to right wing radio after a similar amount of time.

It also may be that liberals like to think for themselves, while conservatives prefer to be spoonfed the kind of tripe that Limbaugh and others spew. If that's the case, perhaps liberal talk radio won't catch on, even in a climate where America is turning against the Republicans.

Nice attempt at spin. I'd give it a D.

Coming from someone who trips himself up all the time (in this case, by using the phrase "liberal indoctrination"), I'll just respond after you trip yourself up again since grading is such a childish approach to criticism.

It's nothing sinister or puzzling in this case. It's agreed upon that today liberalism is more prevelant among the younger generations and conservatism among the older generations (though there are obviously big pockets of the opposite, too). Radio is more popular among older folks; younger folks prefer the internet & tv.
