"I love wall street! I hope all Healthcare executives can afford multiple homes and Jets. I understand that they can only afford these things by denial of the very coverage they claim to provide, and by raising premium prices. I also understand that the only way to KEEP these execs wealthy is to scare the public into looking past our tremendous profit margin, and focus on scare tactics and bOOL$h!t. The more we throw, the more will stick."

Brainwashed Obamites are all the same. Now we just have to pass around some of that Jerry Jones Kool-aid to you...

Back on the topic. Of course they have to tax the middle class. Thats always been the plan. Once you start blowing the deficit by trillions of dollars, not even the rich in this country can pay for that. We are all going to be paying for this for generations to come.

If you don't mind me asking, what is your profession? Do you have a job? Because the above quote is something I would expect from a high school dropout living up in a Redwood tree to save it from "environmental Terrorists". Your utter lack of understanding about our healthcare system is astounding. I know...I work in healthcare.

    AND...

back to the topic as well....

If they indeed DO tax people making under 250k, I will go to a tea-party. I will speak up. All presidents break promices, but that would be one of the biggest broken promises to date. And one FAR to great to overlook.

Can't wait to see you at a Tea party. Because, as I'm sure you are well aware, Obama has been trying to pass Cap and Trade. This will put a tax on all energy derived from fossil fuels. I'm pretty sure that people making less than 250K use natural gas, oil, coal, and fuel to heal their homes, drive their car, etc. So they will be taxed. Exactly like Obama said he wouldn't.

Taxes are more than whats taken out of your check every pay period.

Re: Obama Eliminates Private Insurance <-----MUST WATCH---THE PROOF IS HERE

If you work for a health insurer, and are unaware that your company bases all its decisions on profitability, then you DON'T "know".

If you work in 'Healthcare' and think the private system is good, efiiciant and the best it can be. Well......I'd like to move to where you live.

I don't work in the healthcare field, but my wife does. I hear about what goes on in my city. I've actually SEEN patients be tossed on the street. I've seen your fellow americans drive hours to attend a free clinic, and happily wait in line for 4 hours to get treatment. I know those who have been denied and dropped for a pre-existing condition.

I've had the same job for a decade, I've never had a problem with my iunsurance.

    THIS ISN'T ABOUT ME.

    Its about US.

The current system benefits the middle man. Not the Doctors. Not the Hospitals, Not the American people.

If you are Cigna's CEO, I'd understand why you 'think' the system works. You see numbers and tell the board of directors that you are making profits and driving up the price of your stock. You are infact doing your job. What you don't see are the rising premiums, and coverage denial that has made you so wealthy.

    Oh god....

I'm all for Cap and trade. Just not how you see it....

If you understand the true dangers of cap and trade (Regional pollution excess) maybe we could start a discussion about it. Honestly...start a thread. I'll jump in.

But for the time being, you guys should be just fine with discussions of "possible" middle class tax increases.

I'm on board too, if he does it.....IF.

Re: Obama Eliminates Private Insurance <-----MUST WATCH---THE PROOF IS HERE

I work for a hospital, as does my wife. I've never seen patients "tossed on the street". I did see my Hospital provide $41 million in free healthcare this year. That was to patients that could not pay for their own care. You know who that cost is passed on to? You the insured who can pay, which is part of the reason why insurance is so expensive. Maybe we can agree on this. The fastest, most dramatic way to lower healthcare cost for AMERICANS is to deport all illegal immigrants. Hospitals cannot legally turn down anyone who walks into their buildings. So, if illegals have an injury, whether it be an ankle sprain, a cut, or an amputation they go to the ER. Hospitals must treat them for free, driving up costs for the rest of us. Again, the fastest, easiest way to solve the healthcare issue is to deport illegals, which will dramatically reduce costs for everyone.

As for the rest of it, well, I just guess you don't realize what costs hospitals face. When a doctor spends 10 years in college through grad school and rack up 200K in debt, they need to make alot of money. Drug companies spend Billions in R&D, and 1 out of a thousand drugs pans out. You expect them to charge 5 cents a pill? CPOE(Computerized Provider Order Entry) and CMR(Computerized Medical Records) should allow for continuity of care, decrease costs in the long term, and result in vastly fewer errors...but these systems cost a termendous amount to purchase, install, train, and maintain. It's not as simple as just having everyone go through the government, or saying, "all you can charge for this procedure is this much". If thats the case, healthcare providers will just stop providing the procedure.

Besides, many of the most time and resource consuming issues I deal with usually relate to a government stipulation, rule, or regulation. Having more of them is not the answer.

Re: Obama Eliminates Private Insurance <-----MUST WATCH---THE PROOF IS HERE

We don't agree on the best way to cut costs. I believe its admin costs, you think its Illegals.

We seem to agree that Hospitals already treat the uninsured at a cost to the insured. They tend to treat them in the more expensive ER than with regular visits.

We also agree that doctors are not making $$ under the current system. The education bills alone are redonculous. Now...add on to that the operating coists, and the up to 40 people they need to deal with billing etc. Most doctors 10 years ago were fighting to get onto HMOs, now look at the number of doctors who are becoming boutique doctors and eliminating insurers all together. Ask your doctor friends how much they like insurance comapnies....go ahead...

cutting admin costs by 5-7% alone will pay for 47 milllion uninsured americans.

Odd that you work for a hospital, yet are on the side of 'for profit' insurance. Its like telling me you trade stocks, and suggesting Bernie Madoff as an investor.

Re: Obama Eliminates Private Insurance <-----MUST WATCH---THE PROOF IS HERE

need to do both.........can be done simultaneously

the primary care guys I don't know that much about, but the specialists are bathing themselves in money.......a fully scheduled gastro rakes in about 750K

I find it interesting that the biggest beauracracy (the govt) is going to be effective at cutting admin costs............something wrong with that picture

Since Saturday everyone in MA, most of whom are making less than $250k are paying more in taxes just the same. I knew I would last year one way or another despite the campaign rhetoric then or now. I suspect something similar is going on in most every state or other local area as well. I still voted for him though. I'm still hoping we did the right thing.
