Each year, by this point, we usually see one or two teams emerge as the great team in the NFL for the year.
This year, we've got a pretty big tie for first place and everyone has at least two losses.

Just wondering what you guys think,
this year,
are there too many great teams that would be dominant any other year
or
are there just average-to-good teams?

It's funny, if the Steelers had beaten the Patriots the media would declare them the clear cut #1 "best team".

But since they lost, it's just become "WELL THERE ARE NO GREAT TEAMS!"

Well its just a bit of both.

If you look at the Pats, they seem to be part of the top tier, yet they are definitely not a dominant team, given the amoiunt of holes they have. And since nobody really stepped up showing that he is significantly better, there might just not be a dominant team.

OTOH most dominant teams in the last years where just good teams with some luck in tight games (03 Pats, 06 Colts, 08 Titans). This time its a merry round robin, so nobody comes out ahead with a "dominant" record.
