Hopefully he can be here for more than a year before the Jets try to grab him.
Good to see a loyal man move up the ladder.

That's very odd. He was tapped to replace Scott Pioli if Pioli ever left. Hey, maybe Pioli can become the QB coach?

Anyhow, check out this interesting article on Caserio, McDaniels and London Fletcher.

Not so sure it's moving up the ladder as much as branching out perhaps on the road to GM'dom.

As usual we stay in house. It's all about familiarity with the system.

Thomas Dimitroff, most likely. He's the college scouting coordinator.

Kyle O'Brien and Adam Peters are the only two pro scouts.

Hopefully Caserio's Central Michigan roots can help provide insight on intriguing prospects LT Joe Staley and DE/OLB Dan Bazuin.

I forget which Bowl game it was (Motor city??) but Bazuin just dominated that game no matter what they threw at him.....

As for Caserio, enjoy the quote, it will probably be the last one from him for a few years..................

this is Kremlinology reminiscent of the cold war days, but perhaps this is a sign that pioli isn't going anywhere for a while and that they are giving Nick some broader experience either as part of an eventual succession plan for Pioli or simply because he asked to become part of the week by week coaching staff.

Kinda like Troy playing both sides of the ball, Caserio knows the FO and now will know how it is implemented. It is all about depth in all areas.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was exactly what he was trying to do. Education of a Coach describes in great detail what Belichick's life was like when he was one of those guys, working in his first job with (ironically) the Colts. As seen with the McDaniels move to offensive coordinator, he neither underestimates nor ignores good coaching talent, even in young upstarts, and gives them opportunities that he perhaps wishes he got.

With the brain trust of Josh and Nick as OC, QB coach and WR coach, the passing game cannot be in better shape. Their college connection and knowledge from a top football program will overwhelm the league.

Pretty soon we'll have an entire division III coaching staff.

Sorry, I just don't get it. Seems like we've continually declined in coaching talent since our last Super Bowl win.

Well, Charlie Weis was a high school coach before Parcells plucked him out of obscurity.

That doesn't negate what I said. Replaced Weis, Crennel, Davidson and Mangini with who? Pees was promoted.

I don't know what Weis' first job out of an impressive career has to do with it?

Of course everyone starts somewhere, but most staffs mix experience in other programs with home grown talent.

Too many yes men is not a good idea IMO.

He was head coach one year and won the NJ state championship.
