“I don’t think people realize how much our wives and other family members work to keep things normal for us,†Vrabel said yesterday at Gillette Stadium.
To make his point, Vrabel noted that players have their various routines, all of them built around the premise that each week the Patriots are going to have a Sunday game. Only it doesn’t always work out that way. The Pats’ 16 games in the regular season included two visits to Monday Night Football, a season-opening Thursday night game and a Saturday afternoon game. Their four preseason games included two on Thursday night and two on Friday night.
