I'm not surprised at anything the media says anymore. It's their job to create a controversial subject that they can split into different opinions, not only to pass time on their shows, but to get people talking and having overall debates about it.

We all know which one we'd all take, but at the same time you've got to admit that it's an extremely controversial and popular subject that can be brought up at any moment, not only during the season but also in the off-season.

It's like the "go-to" debate when all else fails.

if we are talking about career ill give it to Brady but if we are talking about this year so far hell Russell Wilson and at lest 5 other QB's are having a better season then Brady right now, Peyton is on pace to brake the TD and yards record

That's because Peyton's bosses actually gave him quality people to pass to.

Brady would be on pace to break (his own) records right now if he were in Denver. That's the problem with this sort of evaluation.

I never thought I would like something Breer said, but he is correct on the point about starting pitchers. You can't evaluate individual performance the same way in football. To many variables. It's like a row of dominoes. One falls, they all fall.

Success is measured by facebook likes or twitter followers, not by quality of content.. see Borges, Felger and the rest of the contrarians.

Questions like this further frustrate me when thinking about the front office decisions...Caldwell, Gabriel...are you kidding me?

I don't believe we respected enough our 199th pick, IMHO.

Good job to Breer in sticking with the facts....

Another moronic comparison. Put Manning in our Pats offense, and he probably would have been benched by now, and replaced with Mallet…..

    No Jersey Selected

Fast forward ahead to January. I can imagine this same story with the lead "Manning One and Done Again"

surely bounces goes both ways and you can't expect to get all of them, so I don't want to come off by saying we should of got all of them, as a few went our way in 2001 and 2003, but less in 2003 . . . but if two bounces go our way in 2007 and 2011 . . . the career debate is game set and match . . .

or even if a one of many bounces go our way in 2006 AFCCG and one our way in 2007 and let the other not in 2011, it still game set match . . . the career debate would of been done some time ago . . .

as for this year not sure if Brady is top 10 and surely not top 5 for the season and manning is at least top 3 . . .

NFLN, ground breaking as usual. Who would have thought to make that comparison?

    Cliff Notes analysis:

Brady is better in terms of career success in games that are played
    inside,
    outside,
    day,
    night,
    in sun,
    rain,
    wind,
    snow,
    hail,
    sleet,
    calm,

One would presume that Brady is better for his career even when Oobleck falls from the sky.

Now, every QB is better in perfect conditions. When QB A has played in perfect conditions 80% of the time and QB B has played in perfect conditions 10% of the time, their stats get somewhat leveled, even if QB B is superior.

Do they ever get tired of rehashing this topic? LOL.

Seriously though Peyton has weapons coming out the wazoo in Denver - Decker, Thomas, Welker, etc. Brady now has minus Welker minus Lloyd minus Hernandez .... so complete rookies and only 1 game worth of gronk. It's not even a fair comparison right now. Wait till Dobson and Thompkins hit their 2nd year and Gronk is fully healthy, then we can START to debate it fairly.

This year, Manning has been better, and no, it's not just the receivers around him. He's been a more accurate passer. He has had the distinct advantage of not having to hold the ball nearly as long as Brady's had to, and his receivers get more open (and open more consistently) than Brady's do, but even accounting for that it's clear that he's playing at a higher level.

He has tailed off a bit in the past few games, but even in his current state it still isn't even especially close. Brady hasn't been Brady this year.

Again, it's impossible to say if Manning has been more accurate. As bad a game as Brady had on Sunday, he was actually more accurate than Manning.

Brady has clearly had a better career and Manning the better season.

I didn't watch Denver/Indy but saw highlights and it appeared that after Manning took a big hit his arm went completely dead for awhile. From what i gather he recovered enough to have a decent game but I am really starting to wonder how well Manning's arm strength is going to hold up through the end of this season, and if he ends up in bad weather the Bronco's could pay dearly for it. Brady has clearly been off with his accuracy at times this season but his arm strength has been fine and there is no indication that he has lost any velocity at all, and if anything there have been times when it has looked even better than when he was younger.

I would love to see the Denver/NE game played in really nasty weather, it would be the great equalizer for the Patriots as they are at an obvious deficit at the skill positions.

Comparing accuracy throwing to wide open receivers with no rushers anywhere near you, to throwing to a rookie WR who you really arent sure which way he will break the route, while under the duress of a heavy rush is like comparing an apple and an orange.

I am not playing until Brady start hitting his young WR's in stride and his Receivers in turn catch to football cleanly.
