NFL Wild Card: Bengals at Texans
By: John Morgan

Of all four playoff games taking place this weekend, the least hyped game - Cincinnati at Houston - may be of the most interest to Pats fans. Why? Because there is a very good chance that the Patriots will be playing the Bengals in Foxboro a week from now...

Odd Stat

Bengals have 5118 yards of total offense and 5060 yards of total defense.
The difference is only 3.6 yards a game.
Yet they are ranked 20th on offense and 7th on defense.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Even stranger they have 285 offensive first downs and 284 defensive and are ranked 22nd on offense and 7th on defense.

Re: Odd Stat

There's 8 teams within 20 yards per game just behind them on defense and 5 teams within 20 yards per game just ahead of them on offense. Narrow margin making them near average on both ends which with a 3.6 YPG difference makes sense.

First game is Cincinnati against Houston.

Re: ****** Wildcard Saturday Games Thread ******

Mayock and Hammond are the announcing team, so we can expect some mistakes to be made.

Go Bengals.

Hammond looks like a doll.

Texans will start on offense after the touchback.

Re: ****** Wildcard Saturday Games Thread ******

Houston looked nervous on the first drive and will have to punt.

Re: ****** Wildcard Saturday Games Thread ******

One of the few times I've thought "geez, I could've completed that throw" with absolute certainty. Yates feeling the pressure a little bit.

Re: ****** Wildcard Saturday Games Thread ******

classy houston fans....

Re: ****** Wildcard Saturday Games Thread ******

That crowd is loud

Both QBs looking really shaky.

Two rookies starting at QB. Two overthrows on 3rd down. Could be a low scoring game.

holy crap, what a bull rush...

Bengals D is nasty or Texans O plain sucks !

Tate is such a good punt returner, I have missed him. Nothing like moving yet staying at the same spot.

So I assume we're all rooting for the Bengals. A Bengals win and a Pitts win tomorrow set up Pitts and Balt for the divisonal round which would be excellent. I'd rather have Denver take out Balt, but we all know they're not getting that far.

If Brooks Reed and/or Connor Barwin go off in this game, prepare for the "we should have drafted those guys!" threads..

Man, the NFL absolutely HAS to make pass interference a 15 yard penalty. The CB interfered with Green here, but it's ridiculous to potentially gain 30+ yards on a ticky tacky call.
