What players do you think will rise from raw youth, obscurity or disappointment to stardom this coming season?

My picks:
Laurence Maroney: will stay healthy and amaze
Santonio Holmes: reminds me of Mark Clayton, of "Marks Brothers" fame
Haloti Ngata: the heir to Jamal Williams
Ronnie Brown: Cameron will use him correctly, unlike the the overmatched Mularkey.
Ahmad Brooks: Cinci run D on the upswing
Daryl Smith: understated Jax LB a major talent
Mario Williams: too much of beast to bust
Brandon Marshall: moody WR will move ahead of Rod Smith
Kirk Morrison: Throwback is leader of Rob Ryan's Raider D
Jason Campbell: could soon be best QB in the NFC East
Tatum Bell: slick style will suit slick Detroit surface; the Evil Eye is off him.
OJ Atogwe: game changing FS will gain fame as the Rams make a playoff run.

I think the 49ers have 2 of the brightest young stars in the making - Frank Gore and Vernon Davis

Gore reminds me of a young Emmitt Smith and Davis looks like a version of Gates from SD

Thats why I think the niners will win 9 or 10 games this year and possibly the weak division-That offense could be very good,Its the defensive front that needs some improving.

I think Super Bowl for the niners within 3-5 years

Quarterback: Jason Campbell
Runningback: Ronnie Brown
Wide receiver: Reggie Brown
Tight end: Vernon Davis
Offensive line: Shawn Andrews
Defensive end: Luis Castillo
Defensive tackle: Amobi Okoye
Outside linebacker: Kirk Morrison
Middle linebacker: Patrick Willis
Cornerback: Ellis Hobbs
Safety: Dawan Landry

Philip Rivers - I think he will continue to improve and become a perennial AFC Pro Bowler.

Lawrence Timmons - word out of Pittsburg is that this guy is a potential star.

Steven Gostkowski - Adam who?

Matt Leinart. He very quietly threw for 2,500 yards in 11 starts once he took over the Cardinals last year, which projects out to about 3,600 yards if he had played the full season. He has very talented WRs and a respectable backfield... if his line can just give him some protection, he'll have a fine year.

Luis Castillo is going to be a hell of a player, this year he will show people something

If I am not mistaken,Didn't AJ. Smith draft Merrimen and Castillo in back to back picks?

If this is the case you might think this is a possibility to have been the best 2 back to back defensive picks in NFL history - Both likely on an all-pro career path (if merrimen can say no to roids).

David Thomas
Lawrence Maroney
Garrett Mills
Brandon Meriweather

There are only stars in New England. Don't you know that already?!! :p

In my opinion and to people that actually follow football, Castillo is already a beast. It's hard for 3-4 ends to "breakout" but Castillo is one hell of an athlete for his size.
