I'm not goign to argue that he belongs in tier 2.

But, I see Eli as a good quarterback with moments of greatness. He's just had very opportune moments. I don't see him as getting rattled by pressure and that's his greatest assest.

Still, he doesn't seem to pull it together until post season and that's when he shines.

He shines in post season?...... Here is the Giants record in Postseason with Eli as QB

Lost Wild Card Playoffs (Carolina Panthers) 23–0
Lost Wild Card Playoffs (Philadelphia Eagles) 23–20
Won SB
Lost Divisional Playoffs (Philadelphia Eagles) 23–11
Missed Playoffs
Missed Playoffs
Won SB

His main problem is consistency , i do agree that he is great under pressure.

For people who dont want to read through the whole story here are the rankings

Top shelf: Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Drew Brees
Next level: Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Newton and Peyton Manning
Knocking on the door: Eli Manning, Tony Romo, Philip Rivers, Jay Cutler and Matthew Stafford
Good enough: Michael Vick, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco and Andrew Luck
Middle of the pack: Matt Schaub, Robert Griffin III, Andy Dalton, Carson Palmer and Josh Freeman
Tier hope: Sam Bradford, Jake Locker, Russell Wilson, Alex Smith, Matt Cassel, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Christian Ponder and Mark Sanchez :rocker:
Prove us wrong: Ryan Tannehill, Blaine Gabbert, John Skelton/Kevin Kolb and Brandon Weeden

Eli is correctly placed, IMO.

All the ones placed in the knocking on the door category should join those in the 'good enough' category. Rottenburger, I don't care how many rings he's got is no better than Vick, Ryan or Flacco. If they played with the Steelers in those seasons they would be wearing rings, especially after the refs handed Rottenburger his first ring. Manning ain't gonna be no good this season, he can't throw to his right and let's be honest, the Ds have gone easy on him in the preseason. Newton is overrated, any rookie throwing the ball as many times as he did last season would've broke Manning's record as well.

I think Stafford and Rivers may be half-way knocking on the door.
