The "NFL" never said the call was wrong.
And they never will. They never admitted to the bogus call on Pitts when they played the Colts in the playoffs last year (If they had lost you bet Pitts fans would still be screaming about that). They never admitted to the bogus call on Samuel when the Pats played Denver last year. They'll never admit to the bogus call on Hobbs from the playoffs this year. They're the NFL they can do what the hell they want. That's why fans not to stop all the "it wasn't the refs fault they lost" ball washing and start making a stink about how officials ARE deciding the out come of games. It doesn't take a lot of bad calls to tilt the scales. Just a couple in key positions.
