Just what we need starting another conflict in the mideast, god help us all if we follow through with this.. this will never end.. and all it will do is kill a lot of young men and women fighting, many innocents in Iran and drive this country into deeper debt than we already are.

    http://www.newsmax.com/headlines/iran_nuclear_strike/2008/04/14/87887.html

Contrary to some claims that the Bush administration will allow diplomacy to handle Iran’s nuclear weapons program, a leading member of America’s Jewish community tells Newsmax that a military strike is not only on the table – but likely.

“Israel is preparing for heavy casualties,” the source said, suggesting that although Israel will not take part in the strike, it is expecting to be the target of Iranian retribution.

“Look at Dick Cheney’s recent trip through the Middle East as preparation for the U.S. attack,” the source said.

Cheney’s hastily arranged 9-day visit to the region, which began on March 16, included stops in Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Turkey, and the Palestinian territories.

I'm of the mind that these people want a war with Iran, I hope that they are of the mind to understand that nothing they have planned thus far happened the way they wanted it to. This would make the Iraq mistake look like coloring outside the lines.

    Please PLEASE don't do this.

Say goodbye to a U.S. Aircraft Carrier and/or U.S. military base in Iraq. They know it, and they don't care. In fact, they want it to happen in order to "galvanize" American sentiment and provide the volunteers.

Once again. There is a reason our "elected" leaders are acting like Wild West Desperados. Almost every thread in this forum regarding current geopolitics can be traced back to this very core issue.

Crude oil is rapidly running out, population is continuing to explode, and war is the cheapest solution. Regardless of how short-term it is.

Invest in gold, stock up on canned goods, educate yourself on horticulture, learn how to fire a gun, and form cohesive community with your neighbors in the coming years.

Chickenhawks are sending us all into ruin.

Are you going to suggest no plans have been drawn up? The joints chiefs have plans to strike almost every nation on the planet. It's protocol.

    Propose? Wrong word.

I would SUPPOSE they could easily do so by way of one of their Shahab 3's or Chinese-made M-11s.

Im sure they have the plans. But wait, then again, these morons haven't planned for anything so I will be more precise. They most likely have a plan to strike Iran's nuke sites but probably no idea what to do when Iran then invades Iraq and launches counterstrikes all over the place.

If true, this might just go nuclear and the resident knuckledraggers Foggy and Harry will have their day to jump for joy- whoooopiiiies.

There's a huge difference between having a plan, and looking to implement one. We're not attacking Iran. Sorry to disappoint you.

Why would that disappoint me? You don't have a clue, so please STFU.

Regardless, you've been spouting off for over a year how you're so "certain" we'll never strike Iran. Yet every indication since suggests otherwise, including that fraudulent confrontation in the Gulf last year.

If the U.S. does sucker punch them, please think about pulling your pants up and leaving the forum.

We Will Have Another War, It Won't be Iran, It Will Be Dafur, It Will Be Started By Our New President, His Highness Prince Barack, It Will Be Called "The Wonderful War" By The NY Times And Skanksy Auntie Pelosi, We Will All Be Encouraged To Support This Beautiful War Those Who Don't Will Be Called "Insensitive Racist Neo Con Scum", Many More Young Americans Will Die For Hollywood.

I do have to ask though...when someone posts "newsmax" as a cite for something, it's shouted down as being an unreliable source (something I tend to agree with, btw). Why then, is it suddenly The Gospel According to The Holy Teachings of Newsmax because they've been saying we were going to war with Iran for the past 6 years?

STFU eh? Glad to see you've become more cordial. The days may pass, the hairs may go gray, but Agenda Boy will always remain the same. :p

Oh yeah, you mean that Gulf of Tonkin incident you M&M's were spouting off as certifying imminent war? I guess imminent doesn't quite mean what it used too. :D

Well, i mean, if you weren't such a jerk nearly every time you address me, it wouldn't be necessary. You earned it. And you're the one with the agenda, while also consistently acting like you know everything.

Newsmax is pretty much 90% crap. But they aren't alone in the prediction. Seymour Hersh was predicting this month was the go date a long time ago.

I personally dont think either one is correct. The military brass knows that the Bush-Cheney cabal has decimated our military readiness and provoking Iran with strikes wcould immediately end any hope of "success" in Iraq, however one measures "success". Our military has been crippled by the GOP.

    sabre rattling...more of the same...

We are paying attention and without a draft, there can be no further escalation. The grim reality is that we DO NOT HAVE THE TROOPS, even if we wanted to.

Dude, get this dirty little secret. The Republicans broke the freaking US Army!

I agree with you 100%, but they are not talking about an invasion....more like 24-48hrs of 'tactical nukes'...

now assuming our military is stretched, and 140,000+ troops withiin range of Iranian missles, not counting carrier groups in the gulf.....I'd say its a HORRIBLE Idea.

I've often aked the question on "Saber Rattling" Vs. "Real Threat". Hopefully our leadership keeps along the threat of a war as leverage to stop one. But as I stated earlier, these FOOLS in teh Bush Administration have gotten everything wrong up to this point, what leads us to believe that they will get this one right?

Could be as simple as telling Israel "okay, we won't stop you any longer".

Israel did make it through Iraq to take out Saddam's nuclear reactors.
