The thing that cracks me up about this story is that all the NewsCorp outlets worldwide have barely mentioned it.

If the NY Times had done something like this Fox would devote all of their airtime to it. Hannity would be in conservative heaven going off about mainstream media bias and unethical behaviour.

NY Times is too busy compromising international security to bother with such small potatoes.

first of all...what are you talking about?

Secondly....how does hacking the Prime Minister's phone compare to the NYT in the arena of "compromising international security"?

Shareholders sue News Corp. over hacking scandal

The lawsuit accuses News Corp. of large-scale governance failures surrounding the British hacking case. News of the World employees have been accused of hacking into the phone of a missing 13-year-old girl, who was later found murdered, as well as those of other crime victims.

This makes sense as Rupert has his sons run the European and Australian arms of the Company.

It was a joke (bad one). An allusion to the controversy over NSA wiretaps and the outing the SWIFT monitoring programs (despite pleas from the gubmint).

I'm with you on Rupert as he is a piece of garbage. Grew up with money and took over his Dad's holdings when he was 22 (Dad died).

Nice to see he is keeping the nepotism going with his sons.

Lets see......The largest media empire on Earth is being exposed as a real life "Big Brother"

Hacking the Prime MInister of England's phone
Hacking of a mising person's phone
    delection of messages
    Hacking 7/7 boimbing victims families
    hacking Iraq war vets phones
    11,000 pages of other hacks
    4,000 investigations

and you wanna compare that to runnig guns to Mexico attempting to track where drug lords are?

Fast and Furios can't hold a candle to Iran-Contra...

Still not sure why you and Holy Diver are talking about Government scandals. This is a story about a Corporation that, unfairly or not, gets a bad rap for biased coverage.

Not to mention it is a Corporation that has deep roots in the UK, USA & Australia with newspaper and TV ownership.

Its leagalese...one learns this in law-school...during one of the legality classes in law

    playin....

I'm not the one drawing comparasons to Rupert-Gate and Fast and furious...MIchael was.

I was saying that selling arms to enemies by our government goes on, and using Fast and Furious as an example was pennies in the piggy compared to Iran Contra. Why didn't he use THAT example? (That question is rhetorical)

    anyway....

Rupert Murdoch taps people's phones. Thats how NewsCorp conducts 'Journalism'. Thats who runs FOX news, thats who runs the WSJ. Thats the largest media empire on Earth. The further this goes, the more seems to be spewing out. This is getting worse.

Rupert-Gate will make Fast and Furious look like its about as important as the film "The Fast and the Furious - Tokyo Drift". Thats the comparason.

Foxnews.com has already started their deflection campaign. As of 4:27 EST today the front page shows the US Womens soccer team winning (well done laides), then these headlines:

Gray Area: Can Social Security $$ Be Delayed?

Despite warning, some question whether Obama was over-hyping the debt ceiling consequences

Writer Made Scapegoat At Huffington Post?

HuffPo scribe suspended for cribbing another writer's work, a practice ex-workers say is preached by bosses

Then some story about an Aussie farmer running a brothel to pay medical bills for his wife. Prostitution is legal in Australia.

    Uh oh....

3 senators are now calling for a US investigation:

2 Democrats -Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ)
    1 Republican - Peter KIng (R-NY)

I wonder what Hannity thinks about all this?

ummm....not even a mention of this....

Hannity is what he is. His favourite saying is, "Why does Obama want to raise taxes on job creators (he is talking about the rich)?"

As has been discussed here today the rich are not creating any jobs.

I forgot to mention that Hannity will be doing a hard hitting interview with Palin tonight lol

You are correct about the OP so my bad.

Should I start a thread about the arrests and resignations at News in the UK? The only reason I didn't start a thread was because there were threads like this concerning NewsCorp.
