New Server Ordered

There won't be an issue with the number of users anymore. This one should set us up for quite a while, and is light years ahead of this one. So we should be good to go going forward. There also should be very little if any downtime during this transition, and unlike before there will be no downtime in the event of a hard drive issue as there will be a redundant one which will come on if the other one fails.

So needless to say I feel much more confident this time around that the issues will be eliminated and am looking forward to the change. This, if all goes well, will hopefully be by the end of this week.

That is so GREAT!! Thanks...I have no idea about how servers rated and the issues going forward, but that is great news that it's a non-issue. That there is a drive in place to take over is also a great feature..(I'm sure that with larger servers there are plenty of things like that that make life easier...) Having read your comments about the last two weeks..I can appreciate how hard it is when there are overloads, problems and other things and really unable to do much about it. Maybe sometime after it's in you can tell us a bit about the growth of teh site and the changing of servers etc in the last five years. I am sure many of us oldies would love to hear about that and the many changes. And certainly after dealing with all the frustrations and such..a vacation for you needs to be orderd up!! You've done a great job with the site...and this next step, I am sure will make it even better. Thanks again!

Exactly, the mods are the ones who make this place great. I'd be lost without them, and we have a phenomenal group that help make this place what it is. Well said Frezo :ditto:

That's not a technical issue...that's the product of people searching threads and responding to them without looking at the date. So unfortunately no bit of technology can fix that

I'd just like to point out that if we had a better solution for real time chat, maybe some people wouldn't be on the game day thread hitting refresh every five seconds.
