The practice of using quotes by other members is now no longer permitted. It's gone on long enough, and it's obviously not good for the community. If you have one in your signature please take a moment and remove it.

Thanks Ian, that was one of the more annoying habits that seemed to take hold here recently. :thumbs up:

Agreed, and I had noticed a growing trend so I thought it was time to put an end to it.

How about some of the pictures, especially the bikinis. Hard to convince my wife I was in a political forum when she looks over my shoulder and see those. You have to scroll a lot more. And never mind trying to take a quick look while at work. Save it for the "Ladies" forum.

We must save the bikini's!!! Bikini's are good!!!

"Harold why don't you take out the trash? Why are you on that computer all day. Who are these people? "

    It's not the Bikini's fault, it's not.

I've often been tempted to close threads that are of that nature because they violate our rule against stereotyping and sexism, but have ignored it because I didn't think anyone would agree with me and, to my knowledge, we don't have any women who participate in the forum.

If it was up to me ... I would disable the sig feature ... it's too distracting to the threads. Not the pictures --- I'm just talking about the post content - some sigs look like posts and get in the way. The threads would read easier if there was no sigs ... IMO ;)

    LOL... imagine that.

Me, I am lucky; the wife knows I am a perv and is just happy they're in something.

I'm not too sure how many women we repel with the bikinis.

I do think it extremely likely that were the demographics of the board to expand beyond whites, it probably would not do so given the level of racism exhibited here regularly. But the same logic pertains, I suppose; we have few people of color here, from what I have seen. Certainly when the racism pops up (a few times a day sometimes,) the conversation never includes someone who says "back up a second, I'm black and that bothers me."

I did notice there's been some recent attention to that matter, and that's a good thing.

Same here pal. My wife just looks at the screen, shakes her head, laughs and says "you're unebelievable, aren't you ever going to change?". To which I say "Um, I think we both know the answer to that"

You still can't grasp the difference between something being racist, versus racial. Just cuz you don't like the topic being discussed, or the points being made, it doesn't make something racist, sexist, etc.
