After this embarassing display on Monday night, do you think any starters lose their job? I know it is not BB's style to act rashly, but here are my top three candidates:

Kaczur: you could make a good case for Vollmer (or LeVoir) matched with Light

Wilhite: He's always close in coverage, but not close enough. And too many missed tackles. It's Butler time.

Burgess: Ninkovich anyone?, Woods?, or Seau (moving Guyton outside)...How bad could one these three options be? Burgess has done virtually nothing.

After all, BB said the problems are correctible. Personnel moves would qualify as a correction, no?

I'm wondering why Shawn Springs has vanished. Now that we're within the last six games, I'll bet we see more of Seau.

I know BB doesn't usually freak out about one game - but I could see Wheatley as #3 instead of Wilhite teaming with Bodden & Butler.

I feel Kazcur will keep his job. I think BB likes him. But a healthy Vollmer would probably force a move somewheres, because he was more than solid.

I think everyone wants to see Vollmer in there. The only question is where. And you won't hear me complain if Wilhite does not dress for the game. But we still need help in the interior OL. I wonder how hard it'd be to move one of the tackles (Vollmer) to guard. That's where teams are killing Brady.

I think Kaczur is a better candidate for gaurd. He plays over his toes more than Volllmer.

I don't want to see Wilhite get benched for his poor performance on Monday night. The guy has shown some pretty good promise IMO especially for a 4th round pick. He seems to have very fluid and hips and can stay with his man pretty well. Colston and Wayne are two of the better WR in the game, of course Wilhite is going to have some issues in only his 2nd pro season.

I remember watching Revis develop as a CB b/c I get all the Jets games here in NY. His first season he started out great sticking with his man but he wasn't turning around and looking back to find the ball and make a play on the ball. Now, he's turned into a top 5 CB in the league who gives Randy a hell of a lot of trouble. I'm by no means suggesting Wilhite is going to be the next Revis, but we've got to give the guy a chance to develop and improve, and the way he is going to do that is by analyzing what he did wrong and coming out the next week and trying to improve and play better.

I know we have these recent memories of Wilhite getting chewed, but the guy I'm not as high on personally is Bodden. I don't think he stays with his man well enough and don't think he has the speed to stay with good WR. I often notice him getting beat out of cuts by WR's and playing with his back to the ball. Yeah he had 3 INT's vs the Jets, but Sanchez basically put the ball right in his arms. And I don't know what kind of horrible throw that was by Manning but that hung up there like a wounded duck. I'd actually like to see the Pats start Wilhite and Butler, and have Bodden sub in. I'd also like to see Wheatley get a chance as the nickelback because I think he has the potential to be very effective in that role.

Kaczur IMO is a backup tackle. I don't think he's a worthy starter and I never will. I'd like to see Vollmer and Light or even Mark Levoir play over Kaczur. The guy consistently gets beat and doesn't give Brady adequate time to find an open WR.

I really like McGowan and Meriweather and what they've done, but I'd also like to see Chung get on the field more often on defense I love the way he plays and he doesn't miss tackles like Meriweather does sometimes.

    No Jersey Selected

Whatever happened to Woods? Last year he did pretty well before getting injured. This year I haven't seen much out of him.

    #75 Jersey

I believe is day to day with a knee. Seasons winding down, I don't see why we can't use Butler a little more.

I'm so glad they signed him.
Okay, if he has two bum ankles, what the hell is he doing out there? This is the second week in a row that he has looked extremely bad and if the Pats want to throw like crazy, they better have lineman that are able to protect the QB. Vollmer should play RT.
You're in the minority that think he did well because he was virtually invisible last season. However, you should be happy that he took over for Burgess after he completely wiffed Pierre Thomas when he took a reception for a touchdown. He will probably get more playing time by default because Burgess is pathetic.

If Volmer can go this weekend I think they should play him at RT and see how he does while rotating Light and Levior at LT. If Volmer can't go then they should rotate Light and Levior at LT and place a sack of rocks with a Pats jersey at RT; be about the same as having Kazur in there. The right side of the line needs to be blown up, Neal can't stay healthy and Kazur plays like a steaming pile of excrement. Ideally I'd say play Volmer at LT and move Light to RT but I'm not sure Light could make that change after this many years over on the left. I have no clue who to play at RG when Neal gets hurt; guess just go with the regular rotation of slappys.

I see no viable way to fix the pass rush situation at this time. If volmer and light are both a GO for the game then the sack of rocks could be used in place of burgess for the same effect and less of a cap hit. how bout putting Woods in for AD and putting AD in for burgess? everyone says AD ain't doing chit out there and same same for burgess so what have you got to lose?

at corner - give Butler more time or teach Wilhite to TURN THE EFF AROUND and look for the ball. what the hell good is being right there if all you're going to do is watch the guy catch the ball at the 1?

but most of all the starters that need to be benched are on the sideline, not the field....you can futz around with the lineup all you want but if you have craptastic play calling that anyone can figure out after 3 series then what's the point? works great against the dregs because they can't stop anything anyway but it doesn't work against real teams. the colts KNEW the ball was going to faulk on 4 and 2. the saints KNEW the ball was going to moss on 4 and 4. just too predictable...

Don't bench Wilhite yet (If he continues to tackle like a girl then okay.) He's still developing and doesn't need his confidence further damaged by a lack of support (see: Maroney). Butler doesn't have to start this season, finish with Wheatley as well. If we draft a player we have to find out what they can do. That said, he has to play better as we move forward.

It's like a WR making a bad drop, throw it to him again. The defense fell apart with Wilhite.

    Maybe bench Burgess/Thomas.

Vollmer should only play at LT, let him master one position. Move or rotate Light.

You know why people know who Wilhite is, even fans of other teams?
They know of him because they see the name on the back of his jersey when he gets spun around after getting burned for the big gain!!
    Again and again!!

    I wish I was kidding. :(

I don't care what the excuse is, he can be right on top of the guy but if he's not making the play then he may as well be on the BENCH, right next to that other Draft Mistake Wheatley.

McKenzie and McCallister say Hi boys.

How many draft mistakes are we going to see, this DL is HORRENDOUS,it couldn't pressure my Grandmother pushing her walker in a snowstorm, The Right side of the OL is like a turnstyle, left side is a lil better, with hope in SeaBass.
Linebacker is weak, with noone except mayo really, and he's been almost invisible since he got back.

A large part of the problem seems to be HORRENDOUS DRAFTING over the years, we always trade down for more picks blah blah blah, but it doesn't matter if you have 700 picks if you use them to pick guys that CAN'T play!!

This years draft seems a bit better than the last few, hopefully they progress a bit better than the guys that are ahead of them.

I have HOPE that they guys will get it together and make a strong push towards the PO's, but they will HAVE to play much better if they plan on doing anything if they get there.

We are lock to win our division. Half the teams that have beaten us are undefeated. We were beaten by one of the best offensive efforts of all time. The team is playing one game at a time. And we fans want to put on bags and change all the starters. sheeesh!

How about just putting our one aweful game behind us as we have always done, and let's get our DL and OL healthy for the playoffs!

O don't you worry, if the OL keeps acting like Ushers at the Theater, Hoyer will be in there soon enough.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Wilhite benched. I doubt Kaczur will be: he's more or less adequate as long as Neal is in and he's not asked to go against someone like Mathis. But considering how frequently Neal gets hurt, and how badly Kaczur seems to suffer when that happens, who knows? Hard to know where to attribute all of that dropoff.

I agree, it's too early to give up on Wilhite. But at the very least, he has to sit for a while. Maybe a nickel role or something against a 3rd or 4th receiver will be what he needs to get better on making plays on the ball.

Bodden is more of a physical corner who can really jam guys at the line, but when they have the DBs playing 10 yards off, that really eliminates his only strength. But he can be quite effective if they're playing a more physical style. So I wouldn't bench him either unless the scheme calls for leaving large cushions on the receivers.

    #24 Jersey

Bodden is more physical, but lacks hip swivel and quickness. He got beat deep three times, but Brees only hit the first one. If we could somehow merge Bodden's physicality with Wilhite's quickness, we would have a pretty good NFL CB.
