New 2009 NFL Mock Draft Game Discussion Thread

Guys... pls remember (if you can) to PM the person drafting after you as a courtesy. That will help keep this bad Larry flowing nice and smooth. :)

I know SF has a big question mark at QB but I'm guessing that Singletary gets his way in his first year as HC and the 49ers draft somebody on the defensive side of the ball first. Just my opinion, we'll find out very soon . . .

I agree. I thik SF is going to give the QB's they have, one last shot to prove themselves. I don't believe Sanchez will be taken in the top ten.

I PM Vegas as well just to make sure.

I also agree. They could also wait a year, if they think that the draft class in 2010 or FA class is better.

I'm pretty sure the Skins won't pass on a certain OT if the draft played out this way, but once again the big boy drops from the top 10.

WhiZa PM'd me his list of picks for Houston. Give me a couple of minutes and it will be done.

Mcneil+Smith as bookend tackles. Nuff said. As for the character concerns, San Diego has a cast of LT, Merriman, etc. He'll fit right in.

Actually, I think that OT is there biggest need, but there was a run before me. They also need a number one receiver & front 7 help. I usually draft in tiers and Sanchez was the best available at that point. In the real world, I think that they are trading back w/ the Jets/ Broncos/ others if Sanchez is available as most of the D help is pretty fungible at this point. JMO.

Word is that the Skins are looking DE and Ayers is their binky. Any comments on Maclin, or can I just go back to work?

They needed a deep threat so it was a pretty good pick. Maualuga could also have been a possibility but they already have Harris and I think Maualuga is better for a 4-3.

I was kinda hoping we'd get a chance to see the Pats pass on Connor this go-round. :(

Very surprised to see the 2 other USC LBs going ahead of the more heralded one.

I wasn't going to take the chance.

Explanation for the Broncos picks at 12 & 18:

My two targeted players going in were Tyson and Everette. Thought at least one would slide. :(

Malcolm was strictly a value pick.

Connor was #2 on my board after Brown at the same position, fills a priority need, and wasn't going to wait till round two to see if any pass rushers remained.

I have no issue with the Malcolm pick. If Denver is switching to a 3-4 then I would think the priority would be ILB, but if they stay with a 4-3 then I suppose Connor would play DE.

With the addition of Julian Peterson and already having Ernie Sims I had to select Rey Maualuga and put him in the middle.

I will have my pick up shortly after discussing with McNabb;)

I will pick soon...feel like I have a gun to my head....pressure!!!
