Wow, Poor old NEM certainly has some issues, he needs to get some help. What a shame.
Not the first Pats football site he's been kicked off, and undoubtedly not the last.
It might be the last. There can't be many left for him to go to.
If he hadn't signed up with the user name DownWithBOR and the tag line McDaniels and Hobbs must go he may have gotten away with it.
Nah, how could anyone not recognize NEM from what he writes?
Holy cow, are you serious?
Wow, even the capitalized version of 'nem' is censored on Patriots Planet.
I applaud Ian for taking care of this, the 'Daniel McJosh' routine was evidence that he wasn't going to respect the football forum ban.
sad and pathetic that his need for attention reached the levels it did, I suggest making his name part of the banned word list here also as a sign of moving forward and growth
LOL no, but it speaks volumes that you would even consider it.
Edit: about him not you being sucked in, LOL, before we go down that road.
I trust that Ian had good reason for it.
i think Ian and others did all they could. i don't know the guy and i never got in his crosshairs, probably because i'm relatively new, but i did find that i stopped reading threads where he was posting heavily because the discussion deteriorated. and, on a bad day, that was a lot of threads.
The ESPN thread, but it's pretty bad (except maybe we got a good poster or two from there?).
Can't help but feel bad for him even though Ian gave him numerous chances.
Speaking of giving lots of chances, any truth to the rumor that Anna Nicole's baby is a little NEMMY?
I know Ian feels badly it came to this. I can only imagine how much time over the years Ian spent dealing with NEM related issues. No need to get into what they are anymore.
I do wish the guy my sincere best wishes and hope that he can re-direct a lot of the energy, anger, and time spent on Patsfans and other forums in a more positive manner. Many of his football posts had value and I know he enjoyed the discussion here, but the good did not outweigh the bad in Ian's opinion and that's the only opinion that really counts here.
I put aside my anger and issues with NEM awhile ago and hope NEM at somepoint does the same with all those he butted heads with.
Good luck NEM ,please to meet you
I am the father of Anna Nicole's baby, NEM is the father of Mary Cheney's baby!
Seriously, alot of people over at the political board tried to help NEM, some even went waaaaay out of there way, in trying to help him. We even decided to allow football related posts over there to keep NEM engaged. Ian gave him every chance in the world, and yet he still crossed him.
Joe, your post pretty well sums it up - I agree.
Ian probably felt bad but was left with no choice.
This group is NOT better off without him, he is an original Pat fan and has stories from the very beginning that we will not be able to hear about anymore.
However, with all his personal problem over the past few months and the way he responded in here toward life - it was over the edge, far far over the edge and that is too bad.
NEM - I wish you the very best and hope that somehow, you can get your life turned around and someday, get back in here contributing what you can in the true spirit of a Patriots fanatic and not the way it all ended up.
That would censor every word with nem in it.
"Bill Belichick is Peyton's ***essis."
"Boy, emi*** sure sucks."
"Have you seen Finding ***o?"
Its really not possible to totally eliminate him from this site,He can rejoin AGAIN under another name and keep posts under control and he will remain-even if we think its NEM if he does not admit it (of course he wouldn't) then,I don't think there is a way to totally ban anyone....Only ban 'the name'.
He just wont be able to tell us how much of a long term Patriots fans he is or what he did for the team in the past or his prayer before the games,But he can rejoin again...and will.
For sure,If you think he has retired from posting on this site then I have some swampland in New Jersey to sell to you.
What can stop anyone after getting banned to come back under another alias? - Absolutely Nothing....
I know you are here NEM...I can hear you breathing
He has the IP Banned...:snob: :snob:
He already went with McDaniels last time, so I'm betting he'll go with Hobbs.
no not true, it may be able to be set up properly for just the 3 letter version
I certainly had my differences with him that were reaching critical mass but I do wish him the best. I really hope that he gets the problems that he has in his personal life resolved for the better.
That is the important stuff, not a football mesage board. This is recreation.
NEM can get around it. Patriots Planet banned him, and he keeps coming back under unique handles such as NEMichick.
Ahm ok,i didn't know it .NEMichick?
Don't worry,Somehow he will get back in...Even if he has to use a different computer or something..He will be back in..This is his life and he cannot live without a patriots forum...
When you are desperate you make things happen and he likely will somehow,He may have never went back to the other Patriots forums he was banned from (maybe he had) but this is one he REALLY loves and won't leave, not without his heart stopping short of it....
BOTTOM LINE IS THIS...ONLY 'THE NAME 'NEM' IS GONE' ...THE PERSON IS HERE AND WILL BE HERE AS LONG AS HIS HEALTH PERMITS.
Just when he had my vote for fan of the year...............
What problems does he have in his personal life?
And also, what did he do that got him in so much trouble?
I always found NEM to be controversial, but passionate...a little like myself, I might add...
For that, he should not be banned...
If we start banning people because we do not agree with them, aren't we getting a little "1984-Orwellian" in our thinking, comrades?
I mean the guy started a Pats Fan Club in Arizona for God's sake. One that hosted a massive bash a couple of years back that counted Robert Kraft and John Kerry as guests, I believe (sorry I missed it!)
He DEFINITELY loves the Pats!
Don't misunderstand, I have the utmost respect for Ian Logue. He keeps this board running under sometimes trying circumstances and we all reap the benefits of that labor.
I would tend to understand & support Ian if NEM was asked him to abstain from a particular behavior and he ignored the request (ie: creating a new name to circumvent detection or whatever).
But, maybe it should only be like a 30 or 60-day suspension, as opposed to a lifetime ban?
We could change the little moniker under the name to "PUP List" or something...LOL!
Just my two cents. Anticipating the slam.
Separate names with a comma.
