Nobody said the San Francisco 69ers? Wow... I guess once a joke gets old enough it's just assumed.

That said:

- 69ers
- The second best Alex Smith in his draft and he's not even playingers
- The Alotta Vaginas (with apologies to all women and Mike Meyers)
- The "Wasn't the 92 Earthquake Bad Enough?"ers
- The only team in America that misses TO
- The Memories (shared title with Pittsburgh)
- Frank-N-Swine
- The Fighting Lattes
- "HATE" Asbury
- The Moveable Object meets the Resistable Force
- The Banta-Cain Mutiny
- The Only Team Where The Trainer Has Medical Marijuana

Okay thats all I got.

I call them the 9ers, and I give them respect for being a 1st class team for a long time.

At least up till around 2000. One of the best ran NFL franchises in history.
I guess that perspective depends on when you were born.

Don't get me wrong, the 49ers were the best NFL franchise in the 80's - 90's. But the NFL goes further back than 1980. With the exception of a couple of years in the early 70's, SF was never a contender from the time they entered the NFL way before even an old fart like me was born, up until the 80's.

The 49ers may possibly have had the most dominant run (16 straight winning seasons with 15 playoff appearances and 5 titles) in the history of the NFL, but to call them one of the 'best run NFL franchises in history' you need to go further back than their glory years and look at the entire body of work, in my opinion. As good as they were in the 80's and 90's, they were just as mediocre in the 60's and 70's. By the same token, I would call the Patriots the best franchise of the 2000's but there is no way I would call the Pats the best franchise in NFL history.

Nice idea, but this franchise deserves respect. I'll be happy with a tough win.

How about: "Pats r just a three point pick"
