I came up with this little bit last night when I first heard the official announcement. Ignore the seismic evidence accumulated thus far today (which, if anything, supports my theory)...

I think either the whole thing is either a fake or it was a legitimate attempt that resulted in a failure. The reason I think this is because of their official annoucement. The translated text of the official announcement reads, in part, as follows:

"It has been confirmed that there was no such danger as radioactive emissions in the course of the nuclear test, as it was carried out under scientific consideration and careful calculation."

That statement seems a little bit like pre-emptive excuse making. IMHO, they know our spy planes aren't going to pick up any radioactivity so they're trying to explain it away in advance. It reminds me of the employee who starts coughing on a Thursday because he knows he wants Friday off and will be calling in sick.

    #87 Jersey

Supposedly 1 Kiloton ... which is small as these things go. I think they are making a "Small Nuke Dirty Bomb" which they intend to sell. I think the publicity is to line up the bidding on the bomb.

I know this sounds crazy...but I think the idea is to think crazy to figure this all out. Logically, it makes no sense at all. It's either a dud or it's a terrorist weapon they intend to sell to help finance their solid rocket fuel program.

First let me say in no uncertain terms:

How could Clinton let this happen?

Y'all don't suppose they pushed to get one of these things going because Iraq fell and they were next on Bush's hit list?

All I can say is thank god we don't have some milk-kneed president in there like Carter or something. Heck, he'd probably be talking about condeming them in the 'strongest possible terms,' that's if diplomacy didn't work first. With 'ol W in there I'm sure this situation will be resolved in a matter of days.

Don't laugh if you go to Rush Limbaugh's site this AM, the banner reads, "The path to 10/8", not much commentary but talks about a faux movie that shows pix of Carter, Albright, Clinton & Lewinski..." nothing about what GWB and his crew have done for almost the past 6 years.

America shouldn't worry about that little Ping Pong bastard with the funny looking wig, China will take care of him.

Ping Pong is a pedophile you know, he has a harem and among them are 13 year old girls.

I wonder if he takes his wig off when he is Copulating :singing:

I wish people would learn that there truly are lunatic leaders on this planet who rule with an iron fist, and who care nothing about the lives of individuals, and only about increasing the power of their rule. KJI is a certifiable loon, and constitutes a third of the three stooges of world leaders.

Anyhow, I laugh at those who say this would have been avoided if we sat down and talked to them. These clowns want nukes. Nothing you offer them is going to stop them.

Clinton, Bush, Clinton, Bush. You guys are a broken record. Who cares at this point, there's plenty of blame to go around both in the US and worldwide. Now they've got weapons (4.2 measured on the richter scale tells me they exploded SOMETHING).

This is the UN's problem. Why should the US be blamed? It's funny how the world thinks we meddle to much, which we do, but then looks to us dumbfounded when things like this happen. Too funny. What good is the UN or the IAEA? Seriously. Outside of all things military, what could we do to prevent a country from going nuclear if it truly wants to be? Sanctions? We saw what happened with Iraqi sanctions, so forget those.

The UN exists on paper, it doesn't have life or death problems of its own. A nuclear country as unstable North Korea is the problem of every human being on the planet. Maybe it was inevitable as you say, or maybe something could have been done differently over the last few decades. It's not America's fault, it's the world's.

Liberals usually side with these sh!theads because they are America's enemy, many Liberals can't stand the idea that America was on the WINNING side of WWII. (Socialist Bastards).

I know lots of liberals and I don't know of any that aren't proud of our involvement in WWII. Seriously, do you think liberals really HATE America, or would you at least concede that they might not hate it, but have a strange way of showing their love?

A lot of liberals hate the American way of life. They hate the fact that Judeo-Christian values were the guiding force behind our nation's evolution. They hate things like property rights and small government. They hate the notion that America has a right to arm and defend herself. They hate capitalism. They hate democracy.

Here are some things liberals love... They love the notion that all money belongs to the government, who best knows how to distribute it amongst the populace. They love deviance and immorality in all it's forms. They love being soft on crime. They love socialistic utopias, despite all the evidence showing socialism is a failure.

Liberals are hypocrites. They will behave in the most violent of manner in order to demonstrate for peace. Wealthy liberals will often weep and wail for the common man, before going home to their $10 million mansions built by non-union labor.

It's a shame you have some of the biases you have, because some of what you said is true and some is utter bullcrap. Liberals hate democracy?? They don't think people should vote for their government? Do liberals want a king?

Certainly they believe in weaker property rights; you're correct there, but "they love deviance and immorality in all it's forms" is a condemnation and not a description. It's colorful language meant to inflame and not actually lead to understanding what liberals stand for.

They HATE AMERICA when the Conservatives are running the show, they are a very dangerous breed, it is very possible that these Liberal Nuts may come back to power if they do the first thing they will do is relax security in America and then they will start kissing the enemy's a$s, the Smelly Muslim Terrorists will blow Boston right off the map, Pelosi & Kennedy are incapable of protecting America.

    Freedom:
The idiot liberal democrats say we shouldn't be tapping Al Queda phone lines but they say we should have been tapping Foley's E-Mails (because he's a republican) :singing:

Keep these bastards away from the Controls.

Guess I missed that memo about the Conservatives being a friend to unions.. Guess Wal Mart missed it along with a whole bunch of other conglomerates who I thought were affilliated with the rw side.. oh well once again I have learned something new today. Conservatives good for the labor movement, Liberals bad. But didn't the Conservative congress just vote down an increase in the minimum wage?? Guess that was good for all the common men and women also.

I also am curious about this statement, " they will behave in the most violent manner to demonstrate for peace". Another interesting uncorroberated factoid that obviously was spewed by someone on the right could it be Rush, Hannity, Coulter or maybe Savage regurgitation. I think this is a dittohead comment, nothing else makes any sense.

The conversations here are like the ones on the football forum. Each ideology only looks at their best features and at the opposing ideologies' worst features. (Doesn't it sound just like "The Pats rock, they're better than they've been playing. But the Colts suck, they're worse than their 5-0 record says they are!")

Face it, we need both liberals and conservatives in the world; either one of them would run amock without the other.

I think his point was one of liberal hypocrasy GJA. I don't want to speak for Quigon, but I think he meant that libs support unions, but then go home and use non-union labor to build their $10 million homes. I don't think he was trying to say that conservatives support unions.

Thank you for clarifying, but it felt good to rant and rave.
