I'll get one out early then make another in early April.
Belichick gets real lucky due to some nervousness from 2 teams.

1 - Panthers have several needs but Brohm may be gone at #8 so ...
Patriots trade with the Panthers from 7 - 13
Patriots get #45 in the 2nd round and #77 in the 3rd round
Patriots give back #95 in the 3rd round.

1 -Jones wants Stewart or Menndenhall and will trade to do it.
Patriots trade with the Cowboys from 13-22
Patriots get #60 in the 2nd and #124 in the 4th

1 - #22 DE/OLB Quentin Groves Auburn

2a -#32 OT Gosder Cherilus BC or OT Jeff Otah Pitt.
Patriots trade with Miami for pick #32...
Miami takes picks #60 and #63.

2b - #45 TE John Carlson from Notre Dame.

3a - #69 CB Patrick Lee from Auburn

3b - #77 ILB Philip Wheeler from G. Tech.
Beau Bell ILB UNLV ... outside chance Belichick reaches for Bell.

Don't like it.

Brohm will be most likely available in the 2nd round, he hasn't distinguished himself from other QB's.

Three day one trades? Unlikely.

Gosder is pretty overrated, and it's not the position of must need.

I don't know, if you need a QB nd Ryan is off the board, Brohm at #7 is not really a reach. He has a great arm, and threw the best at the combine.

He would have been picked up very early last year had he come out. Loss of Petrino really hurt that offense this year.

Wow, I love ya bud and you're a great poster... but you're out of your element here.

Every year I go with the grain ... and flop.:(
So it's against the grain this year ... I've got nowhere to go but up.:D

i can see the pantehrs doing that....but for matt ryan if he falls to 7, not for brohm....

i also do not see us taking the TE at round 3.....prob in the second day

also, if we trade with panthers to 13, we are gonna stay there....

I could see us trading down a 2nd time in this scenario. Let's say Pats covet A.Cason - CB. But, BB knows most teams have guys like; Mckelvin,Talib,Jenkins and Cromartie ahead of him. Why not trade down and get another 2nd rounder. Would allow us to get the cb we really want in the first. 3 2nd rounders, along to go with our 2 3rd rounders.

I like Groves, but I don't think he will last until #22. If I got the trade down to #13, I would stay there and pick Groves or best CB. I think I'm starting to sound like a broken record to myself but there's a hidden value to staying in the top half of round 1, you get to sign your guy to an extra year of contract, and that saves you millions in the long run by putting free agency off for another year. This is especially valuable if you landed a stud with that pick.

My first revision ... Belichick sees lots of value and stays with his 3 2nd round picks.

2a -#45 CB Antoine Cason Arizona

2b - #60 ILB Curtis Lofton Oklahoma

2c - #63 TE John Carlson Notre Dame

3a - #69 CB Patrick Leefrom Auburn

3b - #77 ILB Philip Wheeler from G. Tech.
Beau Bell ILB UNLV ... outside chance Belichick reaches for Bell.

My 1st revision ... probably will change 1 more time after the workouts.

I like the initial trades, but don't see the need to trade up for Cherilus. THe only picks worth anything are Groves and Lee.

In fact, I think its dumb for the Pats to trade UP in the 2nd round when they can have much better players.

Why do you want the Pats to draft Carlson? So he can sit on the bench and waste space? The Pats already have Watson and Thomas as pass-catching, mediocre blocking TEs. They don't need a 3rd.

I say there is NO chance that BB reaches for Beau Bell. He's a free-lancer who plays mainly on instinct and has almost no ability to retain plays. That is NOT a Patriots type LB. Not in the least.

Also, I don't see Wheeler being a fit for the Pats because he struggles against guards and getting out of blocks, he over-pursues and he's lousy in zone coverage. Does that sound like someone for the Pats, a team that is primarily a zone coverage team?

If we take another tight end ahead of an LB or DB so help me....

Lofton? I'd prefer Either Mayo or Goff. Lofton, though he supposedly has good change of direction, did poorly in those drills at both the combine and his pro-day. Some "pundits" compare him to Demeco Ryans, but I think that is an insult to Ryans.

I like the Groves, Lee, and Cason picks... the others leave a lot to be desired.
