Been in Las Vegas since Monday morning.

I'm sure there are many who like or even love this city, but it makes me feel ill every time I come here...which is once a year for my annual performance review!

Let's start with the fact that almost 3 million people live in the middle of the desert.

Some love to talk about carbon footprints...well, Las Vegas has to be the #1 city in the world for the largest footprint per capita!

What a waste of electricity this city is! To me, it's the single most embarassing city in America. But I guess people from other countries don't agree because I never see as many foreigners as I do in Las Vegas. Guess the gambling bug is a world wide epidemic.

Then you have hundreds of illegals handing out these baseball card-like porno advertisements to everyone and anyone. It's hard to explain unless you've been to this hell-hole of a city.

And of course there's the hookers....oh man, the hookers!:p:D They honestly make me feel sad as they walk around calling any man who looks their way, "Sweetie". I always get sucked in by them because I'm naive. I see a pretty woman/girl look my way and my first thought is always, "Wow, she's checking me out!"...followed by the realization..."Oh, she's a prostitute....":(

For all those who love this city...I just don't see it. But to each their own I guess.

I'm heading out tomorrow morning and when I get home, I'll have to take about 3 showers just to get the scum off me.

They need a little "Islamic Religion" out there, that would straighten them out.

I like Vegas in 2-3 day bites if I'm with the guys, 3-5 days if with a date.

There's actually a lot of amazing stuff there-- beyond the gambling and hookers, that is. Great dining, shopping, interesting forms of entertainment (not just the myriad shows, but gun ranges where you can shoot pretty much any gun there is, race car driving, simulated skydiving, etc.), good golf. You can also go out tot he desert, to the Grand Canyon, the Hoover Dam, etc,

As for the gambling, it's the one place where I don't get depressed about it, because usually it appears that people are fine with what they're doing.

I've been there about 15 times, and as most recently as this past summer. My first trip there was about 16 years ago as a 21 year old. I prefered it then to now. Then it was an affordable, fun, crazy place. Now it's an over inflated, expensive, who's who, screw you, how much money can we suck out of you while you're here type city. The eye candy is certainly nice. Beautiful hotels, amazing scenery, and an endless buffet of gorgeous women with every step you take. What sucks is the $15 drinks in the hotspots, $11 beers at the sports book bar, and the $9 bottled waters at the hotel pool. Seriously Vegas, a $9 Dasani water at the pool? Like most greedy people, or corporations, if that city goes belly up and broke, I'd be kinda happy. I never remember it that way before. It seems to have become overhyped, and overpriced imo.

Everytime I fly in I groan when I see it, then I proceed to spend a ton of $$ and have a blast. If the terrorists hate us for anything it can be summed up in the excess that is Las Vegas.

Back in the day it was bachelor parties, and clubs, and pool parties for me...

Now its dinner, drinking, the pool and blackjack with Mrs Diver and the crew...

I think the best way to take the temp of a town is to ask the cabbies how they like it. Every single one of them I've ever had HATES Vegas, and that speaks volumes of the locals.

I'd tell anyone under 30 to stay at the Hard Rock, and anyone over 30 to stay at the Wynn. Set a gamble limit, and when you double your $$...WALK AWAY!

Take it from my boy Steve....

You can always tell when someone is in Vegas for the first time. Their mouths drop when they see the slots in the airport terminal...never mind the bathrooms where they are ubiquitous

The only thing that Las Vegas is good for is a cheap flight, to either explore southern Utah or Northern Arizona..

Prefer New Orleans over Las Vegas any day..

    #75 Jersey

The only time I was there (for a conference) I hardly paid for a single drink. They were free on the gaming floor at The Venetian and Bellagio.
