The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in gloom of the sickroom
And talk to yourself as you die.

Life is a short, warm moment
And death is a long cold rest.
You get your chance to try in the twinkling of an eye:
Eighty years, with luck, or even less.

So all aboard for the American tour,
And maybe you'll make it to the top.
And mind how you go, and I can tell you, 'cause I know
You may find it hard to get off.

You are the angel of death
And I am the dead man's son.
And he was buried like a mole in a fox hole.
And everyone is still on the run.

And who is the master of fox hounds?
And who says the hunt has begun?
And who calls the tune in the courtroom?
And who beats the funeral drum?

The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in gloom in the sickroom
And talk to yourself till you die.

No-one wants more war and death. Especially after the past few years. But only a fool thinks that we can just walk away from the middle east and everything will be great. I don't have a good answer on how to get those people to stop wanting to destroy the western world without massive destruction of us and them over there - and I'm guessing you don't either. But just burying our head in the sand isn't going to do it.

Better than Viagra.. does me well.

Just what we need is more saber rattling with Iran, if we do go in after them this will go for at least a decade and will morally and financially bankrupt this nation. This is not a liberal view it is a pacifist view, there is no need right now to do anything with Iran on a big scale. Bring back the old CIA, bring back mossad a few can do a lot.

They're on the verge of nuclear weapons, sitting back and watching isn't much of an option. The stakes are higher that a decade or two ago.

BelichickFan, I agree it's a tight spot now. But do you really think escalating aggression is going to change their 'hearts and minds'? Over 600,000 Iraqis have died since 2003, mostly civilians. Escalating war will only unite Middle Easterners against us more, and may lead to WWIII.

Like I said, I don't have an answer. If we trusted them I'd be happy, very happy, to leave with our tails between our legs if we had a mutual promise to leave each other alone and keep the oil flowing.

We could all agree to convert to Islam. That would change their hearts and minds....maybe.

you geniuses who are advocating a pre-emptive strike against Iran do indeed realize that nation's missile capability, correct?...

2.7% of their GDP goes to defense spending; 70% of their weapons are U.S. made.... they've put the bulk of their post Iran-Iraq war military build-up into missiles... their mid-range missiles are the result of technological aid from N. Korea, Russia and Germany... their Shehab-3 has a range of 1,300km and can carry an 800kg warhead... and we're not talking about misguided Scuds from 17 years ago, either... Patriot intercepts won't do the job...

if your heroes in Washington go forward with their salivating war of aggression against No. 2 on their short-sighted hit list, you can say goodbye to at least one carrier, perhaps a U.S. base in Iraq or two... gone, just like that... poof... not to mention their strike capabilities against Israel (Shehab-4s), which they can and will unleash at a moment's notice when/if our dumbass president picks a fight with them...

but of course, that likely means little to war enthusiasts here and everywhere who have no loved ones in the fray and no clue about the consequences to global stability...

That is why I said bring back the old CIA or the Mossad.. a few involved might fare better than a very long war.. do what they have to do.. not sure why they have not already.

Now would I be wrong to think that you may want us to invade Iran so that you can then.....nah....

Let's put it this way, since I wouldn't be so shallow as to bet on whether we are going to invade a country where which people will die. I don't think that we are going to invade Iran. Air strikes would be the absolute limit of force, and I don't even think they are going to happen. The only thing that is going to stop Iran is the world body, and I don't have high hopes there. Therefore my view is that Iran is going to go nuclear if it indeed can, and there is very little we can, or ever could do about it. I'd make my policy simple, I'd let Iran know that the second a nuke goes off anywhere in the world, and it's Iranian made, or aided, Tehran becomes a radioactive parking lot. I'd announce that for everyone to hear.
