Bummed about McKenzie getting injured I am really pulling for the guy.

No extension for big Vincey.

Damn, that too- that was disappointing. After Pioli and McDaniels, that probably ranks now. Also, as a fan, it kinda sucked to see Rodney retire, although I understand that everyone (including the team) is probably better off this way.

No "I'm not disappointed, its June" option?
We not only have to be disappointed, we must discuss our negative feelings ad nauseum.

Once again we are losing the offseason, and must air our angst.

What,at this point has been the most depressing/disaapointing thing as a Patriots fan you have endured thus far in the offseason?
(besides saying its this thread - smarta$$es:))

Only ONE selection per patsfans member for this poll ....

This thread/poll sucks. Why not accentuate the positive instead?

Out of everything else on that list, I voted the departure of McDaniels.
The departure of JM was one of the many bright spots of the offseason and a cause for joy. This is going to be an awesome year for the Pats.

My most disappointing thing is the incessant desire among some Patsfans.com users to find anything they can to complain about... Whether its the Cassel trade, Maroney, McDaniels, or the draft.

Cassel Trade - The Pats got what they could for him, freed up a ton of cap space and improved their secondary (on paper).

Maroney - Instead of talking about how he supposedly stinks or is made of glass, lets talk about him being healthy and preparing for the season.

McDaniels - instead of blaming McDaniels for Brady's injury and taking swipes at him, realize that he did a helluva job with what he had to work with each year. Could he have improved? Sure. But not everything that was wrong was the fault of McDaniels. Brady and Belichick also have to take some of the blame.

The Draft - Instead of pretending that Belichick and company are ignorant people who couldn't find their way out of a paperbag, realize that they are working with 10 times the amount of information on players. That the draft is as much about who other teams take as it is about who you take. Try and understand why the Pats took a particular player and not your favorite binkie.

OTHER - Disappointed we haven't won this year's SuperBowl yet. Just give it to us already!!!!

I hate to sound like a malcontent, but I have a few:

1. Vince Wilfork's situation (looks like it's going to get nasty)

2. Not being able to land Julius Peppers or Jason Taylor

3. I completely understand why the Patriots moved as quickly as they did with the Matt Cassel/Mike Vrabel trade, but I still think they should've gotten so much more (just me being greedy:rolleyes:).

The loss of McDaniel bothered me when I found out about it, but it really doesn't bother me that much anymore.

I have to go with the Wilfork extension...to ne this was really well earned and the team's FO could have gotten this done without a BIG DEAl..like it is now. I usually think the FO does the right things, but we shall see if they can hammer something out before training camp.

Of the others..I could have cared less about a binkie draft pick or getting Peppers. Gaffney was fine, BUT Galloway, Lewis better options. If they had gotten MORE for Cassel and a DELAY in getting that, they MAY have lost out on free agents..so THAT is something I would NOT have wanted at all. I was a big Hobbs fan, but with all the team had, he was the odd man out. And a vet backup ould STILL be brought in..so that did not matter THAT much. Apparently Tayler wanted to stay close to his family..so that was a non starter. A bit sad about McDaniels leaving, but it WAS going to happen sometime. I guess the trade of Vrabel might have been the most disappointing out of the 9 choices..

something else......

the pats have failed to improve their pass rush..........

Um, Pioli?

ahhh... beat me to mine... Pioli X2 here.

Because of the success of the Patriots, these moves are inevitable. But, looking at what Thomas Dimitroff has done for the Falcons makes me miss him as well.

But the most disappointing thing regarding the Patriots is the failure to sign or trade for a big time pass rusher. For Carrucci to come out and declare that Peppers and the Patriots was a done deal was premature and uncalled for. The runner up for the most disappointing thing for the Patriots is not getting enough for Matt Cassel. The Pats will spin it all they want, but everybody knows they could have gotten more for Cassel. Why do I know this? Recently, rumor has it that teams were offering the Browns a first round pick for Brady Quinn. Did anybody else catch this? The same Brady Quinn that hasn't down jack since being drafted as a first rounder. In my opinion, the Pats could have gotten a first round pick but Belichick and Pioli had something worked out way before the trade went down.

I was so excited when it seemed like Peppers was coming that I guess I will have to go with that.

I voted for Hobbs. If the injury bug hits the secondary for the 8th year in a row, we'll be missing Hobbs....well, everyone except 'condon84' :D

A close second for me would have to be Tom marrying Gisele. I'm sure i still had a chance with her, until Tom stole her from me  ;)

I had to check the "other" box.
I am dissapointed that tha Pats didn't sign either
JT or JP but more importantly
they didn't get a pass rush specialist at the other OL position.

Edit: I guess tanked already covered this.

With all due respect to Tyrone, who is a producer, the thing that bothers me most is not getting another elite middle linebacker in the draft.

Mayo is tremendous.

I was looking for a complement to him from an 'SC or Ohio State player. But it's all about value at the time we're picking.

Not getting JP or JT was a bummer, or even an established pass rusher was annoying.

But I've got to have faith in the guys we've got. Who knows, one of the sophmores could have a breakout season. I just hope it doesn't come back to bite us in the butt later on.

Blader.

I voted for not signing Peppers, although for all we know that was just media speculation and the Pats were never planning on it anyway.

But that's a minor complaint. I really don't feel disappointed about anything. During the draft I did wonder why BB was trading out of the first round and trading away so many picks overall, but I figure he knows what he's doing by now so I didn't fret over it.

Wilfork being an ass.

That was easy.
