YouTube - Morgan freeman solves the race problem.
He makes a good point, but it's a bit facile since there are people with a different point of view on both the right and left. How can you stop talking about it when conservatives are constantly questionning Obama's birthplace and religion? To pretend that would happen if he was white would be dishonest, especially given possible questions that could have raised McCain's birth in the Canal Zone. (He made his birth certificate available under extremely restrictive conditions and his name did not appear in the Canal Zone registry of births.)
I know, I understand what you're saying. The BC and religion BS is stupid. And you're probably right, it would not be an issue if he was white. That does not diminish what Morgan is saying though. It's all the other BS racism that he's speaking of. If just kept to the truth, the talk would be greatly diminished and racism would follow suit.
It's not just the left that guilty of the BS talk, I'm not blind to it. I think we mostly agree here, which is rare in and of itself.
Thanks for that link, MrSparkle.
I love Freeman's point of view on this issue.
If it were that easy it'd have been solved a long, long time ago. The problem is, for whatever reason, people seem to have a hard time not thinking about race. You see the n word, used in the derogatory way, online all the time.
Let's not forget how the hip hop culture in this country, has used the term as well.
Race won't go away because you have some people who still hate those who don't look like them, and others who feel different looking people, deserve a different set of rules.
If you got rid of the the one, the other would go away.
Racism and issues of race won't go away because the supposed "victims" of racism don't want it to. There are a lot of people on the left who maintain their power and serve their constituency by propagating the notion the racism permeates all of our society. They don't want that perception to change.
Blaming the victims, huh, or do you really believe there's no more racism? What's your evidence?
Now yoour gonna get it, Racism Elected Barack Hussein Obama (look at the results, he gave birth to the Tea Party)
