Phony's, thats why the right wing radio and cable TV are so popular, the people know.

Cindy Sheehan--Let her talk, freedom of speech.

Re: More "tollerance" from the left

Freedom of speech means that the government does not impede freedom of speech. An aspect to this freedom is the right to protest and discourage those you don't agree with from speaking. You don't have a legal right to stop them, but if a group you find horrible comes to your neighborhood, you have the right to make them miserable.

Tancredo is an extremist in the Republican Party:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Tancredo

He has as much right to speak as people have to try to stop him, within the confies of the law. Assuming Tancredo's claim that 3 of his supporters were attacked, if that's true, then the perpetrators should be prosecuted.

Tancredo promotes zero tolerance for illegal immigration. That makes him an "Extremeist"?

    No, but this does:

"On September 11, 2006, in Columbia, South Carolina, Tancredo spoke to a gathering of the "Americans Have Had Enough Coalition", which he had helped found. The League of the South invited its members to the event, describing Tancredo as their "guest". This neo-Confederate organization draws much criticism from all parts of the political spectrum, and has been described as a racist hate group. According to reports, the room in which Tancredo spoke had a prominent picture of Robert E. Lee and was draped with Confederate battle flags. At the closing of the event, men dressed in full Confederate military regalia present stood up and began to sing "Dixie," the unoffical anthem of the Confederate States of America. ([27])

Several days after this incident, Tancredo came under heavy criticism from a group of Denver ministers for attending the function. A significant number of them called for Tancredo's resignation from the U.S. House of Representatives. Said the Reverend Paul Burleson, "for a United States congressperson to attend this function and not to be concerned about the confederate flag on the same stage is a disgrace." Tancredo refused to consider resigning, and insisted he had nothing for which to apologize. ([28])

On November 28, 2006, Tancredo was quoted in several news sources as referring to the city of Miami, Florida as a "Third World country." His comments drew intense criticism from numerous political leaders and organizations, including Florida Governor Jeb Bush who called Tancredo's remarks "naive" in a letter to the congressman. Tancredo replied in a letter "I certainly understand and appreciate your need and desire to try and create the illusion of Miami as a multiethnic 'All American' city," he said. "However, it is neither naïve nor insulting to call attention to a real problem that cannot be easily dismissed through politically correct happy talk."

The Racism that the politically correct don't like to speak of and seldom will, many won't even acknowledg that it exists.
1 The Racism in the prisons between blacks and hispanics
2 The Racism in the Hip Hop Rap Crap business
3 The Racism in the Gang Banger community
4 The Racism in the governments Black Caucus
5 The Racism in the "All Black Clubs and Schools" students at Howard University stood on the cafeteria tables and cheered at the OJ verdict.

The Politically Correct "Holy Liberal" would like you to believe that ony "White Christians, Southern Crackers and White Republican Politicians" are capable of Racism, they make excuses for the democrat Racists, "McKinney/Byrd"

I will probably now be called a Racist for even thinking this.

I think this Kramer guy is a jerk anyway, he has never even made me smile let alone laugh but compared to him have any of you heard some of the things Harry Belafonte has said over the years, and Billy Blue Dress' spiritual advisor Jessie Jackoff has publicly admitted to spitting in White Peoples food when he worked in a NY Restaurant.

The little butterball Al Sharpton is well known for his racism, he ran for president, the slobbering lefty liberals all giggle and twitter when Al spews his garbage but they want Trent Lott hung by the neck until dead.

I wonder how many Cross Burnings drooling Robert Byrd has been to, probably a couple of hangings also.

The old time working mans common sense patriotic basic value Democrat is DEAD.

RACISM IS A TWO WAY STREET, CONDEM ALL RACISM NOT JUST WHITEY'S.

The Confederate flag to many blacks is like the Nazi flag to Jews. You're right it's not a crime, though. I'll give you that. All the same, it's certain extremist to fly the Confederate flag, especially if you associated with is extremist especially if you also associate with a racist hate group.

Do you even read what you say? You inferred that this guy wasn't an extremist, (right in post #4 of this very thread) and when Turk pointed out strong evidence that he most certainly is, you change from saying he's not an extremist to he's not a criminal. Hello? Anybody home in there?

Racism has no color preference. Racism is hate, and ignorance. Your satement above is quite offensive to many people, you end with a good statement, followed by a racist one.

It is just a bunch of typical intoplerant liberals. If Ahmadjihad wanted to speak on campus about how evil the United States is, the left wing would support that in the name of academic freedom. But when a conservative wants to speak, they are censored and/or shouted down.

Now, some absolute brain dead morons may try and tell us that protesters are only exercising their freedom of speech, but when you interrupt a peaceful lecture with threats, shouting down and assorted violence, that is censorship pure and simple.

Re: More "tollerance" from the left

Tencredo is far from an extremist. He's actually more of an old school conservative republican on most matters. He believes in the sovereignty of America, and that those who comes here should do so legally, and with the understanding that they must assimilate to our culture, and not expect us to assimilate to theirs. I agree with him on immigration.

Whats funny about the immigration issue is how the illegal excusists violently oppose the pro-america crowds message. Not only do they try to attack speakers, as in this case, and at Yale (was it Yale?), but they also use antagonisitic tastics to protest them. It's as if they are trying to provoke the pro-america crowd to do something retaliatory, and thus turn sentiment against them. Imagine if the Minutemen rushed the stage where a pro-invasion group were speaking. What would the MSM do then?

The guy can speak to whomever he wants.

Miami is a 3rd world country. Have you ever been there? I have twice. When I was a kid, and again last year. They don't even speak english at the airport. All the announcements over the PA are in spanish. It's utterly ridiculous. Driving through the city and it's outskirts, it's 3rd world. My friends and I thought it was disgusting. Sure, the downtown is like any downtown, but it's still a certifiable dump. I'll never go back.

    Tancredo: Bigots didn't sponsor talk

The lawmaker denies that a group eschewing racial equality hosted his recent speech in South Carolina.

    By Anne C. Mulkern

Article Last Updated:09/13/2006 02:39:10 AM MDT

Washington - Rep. Tom Tancredo found himself snared in controversy Tuesday over a speech he gave in South Carolina that attracted the attention of a neo-Confederate group, which falsely claimed to have sponsored the event.

Tancredo's spokesman said the Littleton Republican has no connection to the South Carolina League of the South, which according to its website advocates "a free and independent Southern republic" and eschews racial equality.

The Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League consider the organization a white-supremacist hate group.

The South Carolina League of the South's website posted an announcement that Tancredo "will be our guest" at Saturday's event in Columbia, S.C., at the South Carolina State Museum.

"An organization took liberty and decided to pretend to get themselves more involved with Tom than they actually are," Tancredo spokesman Carlos Espinosa said. "We've never heard of them."

Tancredo rejects all of the group's beliefs, Espinosa said. The group was not responsible in any way for organizing Saturday's event, he said.

League of the South officials did not return messages left Tuesday by The Denver Post.

Tancredo spoke in Columbia as part of a series of appearances in recent days in South Carolina.

Exactly. When the Minutemen showed up, after being invited to come, at Columbia University, the leftist loons their stormed the stage and got all gitty after. How'd the MSM report on that? One channel did. The rest gave it a passing fancy. Anyhow, it's ok for them to march in the streets with their mexican flags, but when an invited speaker takes the stage, they storm it. How people don't see the hypocracy is mind boggling.

People have a right to protest, just as much so as others have a right to speak. We can all agree that this is what makes our country so great. However, it is assinine to protest in a manner that denies one their right to speak.

I live in Florida, so yes I know Miami's issues very well.
Calling Miami a third world country is not something I can ever agree with, though I do agree that our immigration policies are shameful and Miami has and still is suffering for them.
Announcements being made in Spanish, as well as English, is not unique to Miami, either; but given the fact that more than half the travelers using MIA are on their way to/from Latin America, is more than reason enough for the both languages at MIA.
As to anyone speaking anywhere, I could not agree more and if these protestors did try to stop him from speaking, that is no less than hypocrisy, but ELO's statement was that this guy was not an extremist, and I was simply trying to show him why many people thougt that he was.
He has been associated with racism in other instances as well as this one which happened to blow up in his face, that's why he is an extremist.
Nobody in their right mind would have gone on with their speech after seeing how the place was covered with Robert E Lee's pictures, confederate battle flags and men in confederate uniforms.
What follows is simply damage control by the PR folks.

I don't blame you. Is there any place in the world with a majority Hispanic population that isn't considered the 3rd World...? That is what is going to happen to the United States in the coming decades. We'll all be dead by then (hopefully) but by the year 2100, the United States will be a 3rd World nation with a bankrupt government - thanks in large part to all the illegals.

Yelling "Racism" is one of liberalisms favorite weapons, they will use this weapon to destroy the very government that allows them to use it.

When America has finally been defeated and the Illegal Alien Invaders and the Socialist Liberals have turned the country into a another third world sh!t hole, the Sappy Hand Wringing A$s Kissing Starry Eyed WHITE LIBERAL will be the first one SHOT.

Why are you so afraid of the future? The country is evolving, changing. It always has been. It's no longer the world of the European white man. Get used to it. How it will play out in the long term is anyone's guess, but it's because of our multicultural society that we are the greatest nation in the world. We're a role model for virtually all other nations in that regard. Sure, it introduces some new problems, but we also get great food, music, movies, not to mention a huge set of ideas and discoveries that come about when different cultures integrate. You might not like it, but you lost this starting in the 1860s, when we narrowed the distance between white society and black society. America IS a multi-cultural society, and you are only one group among many.
