This sounds like good news for this time of the year hopefully it will continue and it will be interesting to see who's the last first round pick in the fold.

Miguel reports that LB Bissinger has signed for 3 years.

    Any more of ours?

Bissinger isn't a draft pick. You might be thinking of Justin Rogers.

The Pats have yet to sign any picks.

The UDFA contract lengths are pretty interesting:

    WR Chris Dunlap -- 5-11, 200, 21 years, signed through 2007

    QB Matt Gutierrez -- 6-4, 231, 23 years, signed through 2008
    CB Larry Anam -- 5-11, 197, 23 years, signed through 2008

    RB Quinton Smith -- 5-11, 195, 23 years, signed through 2009
    TE Jake Nordin -- 6-3, 262, 23 years, signed through 2009
    DT Zach West -- 6-5, 295, 23 years, signed through 2009
    LB Kyle Bissinger -- 6-3, 255, 24 years, signed through 2009

Still, it looks as if Gutierrez got the larger signing bonus, poor Bissinger got pocket change.

Mikey is hanging around NYC hoping to be the first to see Tommy's baby...would it hurt his feelings if we told him the doctor would get the first glimpse?

Jones was actually a UDFA in 2004, with the Browns. He's also been on the Seahawks. He's actually 27, too.

Of the two guys who were cut:

    S Denny Poland -- 6-3, 220, 24 years, signed through 2007
    LB Justin Warren -- 6-3, 245, 22 years, signed through 2009

UDFA contract lengths are actually relatively pointless, unless they're for 4 seasons or more. The length is of no consequence to the team, as the players will probably get cut anyway (and of course nothing besides the bonus is guaranteed). But if a player sticks around and only has a short contract, it won't matter, as the team will essentially have him under contract because of ERFA.

The lengths seem so random. They mean little after the season starts, other than for spreading their miniscule signing bonuses. Even that doesn't matter since in the end we will be moving any cap money remaining to next year anyway.

IMHO, Guiterrez is the only one that matters, since he is the only one with more than a 1% chance of making the 53. There really are strong arguments for putting him on the 53 if he shows anything. He can have the spot I have allocated to Mays, and Mays can spend a year on the Practice Squad.

With so many low round draft picks and very few high round picks, I would expect to see the Patriots sign most of their picks very quickly. Meriweather is the only one likely to require a lot of effort depending on how far off the two sides are.

I cannot reveal my sources as it may compromise Miguel's roster page.

The Pats will probably reach agreements with most of their draft choices

in the near future but will probably not actually sign them until the

    week before training camp starts.

Why would the Patriots do this???When this violates the CBA.

Why would the draft pick agree to defer receiving his signing bonus??
