What a disgusting thing for someone to say. But I guess all the left knows is the politics of fear.

Shah: GOP budget would kill 70,000 children | The Cable

As Congress struggles to negotiate a budget deal to keep the government running, the head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) told lawmakers Wednesday that the GOP version of the budget bill would result in the deaths of at least 70,000 children who depend on American food and health assistance around the world.

"We estimate, and I believe these are very conservative estimates, that H.R. 1 would lead to 70,000 kids dying," USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah testified before the House Appropriations State and Foreign Ops subcommittee.

I guess the truth hurts. His point makes sense to me, or do you have evidence that malaria control programs, immunization programs, and programs supporting child birth have no impact?

Shah: GOP budget would kill 70,000 children | The Cable

"Of that 70,000, 30,000 would come from malaria control programs that would have to be scaled back specifically. The other 40,000 is broken out as 24,000 would die because of a lack of support for immunizations and other investments and 16,000 would be because of a lack of skilled attendants at birth," he said.

At least my articles are accurate, and I am not gullable enough to read an obvious satire and come in here all outraged thinking it was real news. Do you happen to know anyone like that?

I think my point was pretty obvious, but I guess you need it spelled out more clearly.

Just more politics of fear from the Obama adminstration.

    Yup. It's just fear mongering.

Nothing we're not used to though. The Obama amdinistration has proven time and again they are willing to say anything no matter how big of a lie. Just furthering himself at being the most divisive, partisan POTUS in the history of America.

So what are the accurate figures? What's the source for your claim that they are false?

Your memory is short, given that his predecessor outdid him on all counts.

You're right, though, nothing we're not used to.

I don't think you're in the least bit fearful that 70,000 kids will die or you wouldn't have posted this story. In fact, I think many of those who use the term "fear mongering" use it to cover up their own lack of compassion.

Reagan and Bush were far more divisive than Obama, and if you ever read American history you'd know that Andrew Jackson and even some of our earliest presidents (in the days when the political partisanship was far more pure and the political lines were not blurred) were far more partisan. I think you're understanding of history is kitsch.

You're right, I'm not fearful of such a thing - because the Republican plan will not do that, despite the lies and fear of the Obama administration.

Tell me, why are you so afraid all the time?
I am well versed in American history, certainly moreso than you, and that is why I can say with absolute confidence and accuracy that this is the single most divisive president ever.

Now this was fear mongering, when ever the Shrub administration was in trouble it would go to Orange. Not some back page story by a lower rung cabinet member.

It's usually conservatives who live in the paranoid universe that Muslim terrorists are hiding around every block, Obama is a socialist, the government wants to steal your money, and so on. To me it's common sense or at the very least a reasonable argument that if you cut programs that provide immunizations and treatment for malaria, people will die. Perhaps to save money, we can cut things like immunizations and water testing in your neighborhood.

I don't believe you're well versed in American history, or you would have provided some substance in your response, and as I said your view of Obama as the most divisive president is simply a kitsch view that you share with the uneducated tea party activists, who will almost certainly make the same claim the next time the American people elect a minority as President. I find that many tea party activists have a simplistic and ignorant understanding of American history designed to serve their bigotry, their selfishness, their paranoia, and their insecurity. I believe that most people with those kinds of views have very little contact with people outside their own race, economic class, and culture, and are in a constant state of irrational fear. That said, of course there are some who are educated and worldly, but just have a survival of the fittest view a la Herbert Spencer.
