Rumsfeld will never get fired, their attitude is that he is part of the machine and if it means sinking, so be it.
They will spin that, too and sell it as a win.

Seeing how this fraud of a man refuses to admit mistakes (except the mistaken "appointments" he admitted to), wouldn't Bush be wise to admit this one? Rummy is expendable. Problem is, he would probably turn around and appoint Jeb to fill his spot.

You do realize these criticisms are for the actual on the ground decisions, not the decision to actually go to war? The 5-8% of Iraq where these problems are continuing have been mismanaged by the upper brass and the troops on the ground are doing a hell of a job, but you got to take the fight to them not let them come to you. But judging by your comments all soldiers in Iraq should be tried at Nuremberg.

Are you suggesting we should perpetually engage in armed conflicts in the Middle East to keep the fight over there and "not let them come to you"? At least until we eliminate terrorism from the face of the Earth, that is.

Hell no, I meant in the places in Iraq where the major problems are, we should be more proactive there.

What were the major problems in Iraq (before the war started), and how are those major problems in Iraq different from the problems in the rest of the Middle East?

That is PRECISELY what the Paul Wolfowitz neo consevertive crowd espouses.

They are criticizing a number of things. Yes, some are criticizing the numerous tactical mistakes, while others are criticizing the administrations willful ignorance of military advice. Wilkerson is calling the entire thing a construct of the neo-con cabal. Zinni is critical of not only the tactics, but the NIE intel that was leaked by Bush and was known by Zinni to be false.

So, nice try at obfuscation PFEIL, but anyone that reads anything other than Newsmax or listens to Rush Blowhard knows how disinformative your statement is- direct from Bush-Cheney La La Land and Rove Talking Points Du Jour.

"I think that our executive and legislative branches of government have a responsibility to mobilize this country for war. They frankly have not done so. We're mortgaging our future, our children, $8 to $9 billion a month," he said, referring to the cost of the war." - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12286391/from/RL.1/

Doesn't sound like Batiste is commenting on the tactics here.

Seriously, you need to check your facts.

BTW...this is one of those threads that most reich wingers won't touch with a nine foot pole. I'm not counting on PFEILs follow up.

Why would you call our servicemen war criminals? They follow orders. And yes, books help to spread the word. Thats the interesting thing about the written word. Of the dozen or so officers critical of Rumsfeld, the only one I know with a book out is Zinni. Am I missing someone?

Because every time you throw the words Nazi, Hitler or Auschwitcz you insinuate it.

So people put their wallet before all other things, sad.

Its pretty disgusting that you would suggest Zinni is motivated by greed.
