The Obama Groupies believe anything he tells them it's those "Old yelling trouble making white bastards" who can see right through all his lying Chicago bullsh!t, many of them voted for him but they are smart enough now to see reality.

STUDY THE BILL, RE-READ THE ENTIRE BILL, SATISFY THE AMERICAN PEOPLE THAT THE "CRAP" HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT, THEN PASS IT (obama doesn't want that done, WHY)

Like Sarah Palin, Obama wasn't ready for this job he's in way over his head, he looks pretty, he talks pretty but he belongs in City Hall not the White House.

There are certainly a lot of different scenarios. For instance, the article points out how much more Medicare cost than expected, but ignores the fact that we had 25 years of largely Republican mismanagement of the economy. Sure, if healthcare passes and then Republicans get elected and make generous concessions to the insurance industry and cut taxes, the healthcare plan will be more costly than projected. But, Democrats tend to pay for what they spend, while Republicans tend to spend and cut taxes at the same time. The Democratic approach seems to be more sound.

Too bad when the Republicans controlled Congress and the White House they didn't fix the things, like Fannie and Freddie, that people like you are complaining about now. If people with your views had been more assertive then, then we might not be facing the economic challenges we have now.

At any rate, the Democrats will raise taxes on the wealthy as part of fiscal prudence, and not do the absurd things that Reagan and Bush did by cutting taxes and increasing spending to "help" people overseas. The Democrats are more interested in helping Americans. If we had the $400 billion back from the money Republicans spent to help the Iraqis our situation would be better than it is now.

Ac tually the period referenced in the article covers a span where both Jimmy Carter and LBJ were president along with Nixon/Ford & Reagan. SO both parties participated, of course the economy had no impact on the psending since congress put the entitlement spending on autopilot. THe determining factors were the number of seniors and the coverage dictated by congress.

BTW since administrations and congress (controlled by the dems for the period in question) missed so badly here, why would this situation be any different?
