    Republican Brown calls Kagan pro-military

WASHINGTON -- Republican Sen. Scott Brown says Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan has persuaded him that she supports the military, despite her decision as dean of Harvard Law School to ban its recruiters from campus.

The first-termer from Massachusetts says he asked Kagan about the recruitment flap, and her answer made it clear that she backs the military. He says he doesn't feel her judicial philosophy would hurt those who serve in the armed forces.

Kagan barred recruiters from campus because she disagreed with the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gay soldiers.

LOL... and therefore, the last time Republicans hold a Massachusetts senate seat. Yes, by all means, GOP, purge the moderate and independent-minded Republicans! You can have all the Wyoming senators you want!

    I love you guys!

Who was the ideal candidate?? Realisitically the "ideal" candidate would not have stood a chance.. a RINO was the best bet.

I would agree with that, can't see a conservative/libertarian winning in MA.

Conservative, no. But libertarian, maybe. I haven't followed Brown -- has he done much yet that's contrary to the notion of small government?

Uh, how is this evidence of Brown being a RINO?

Not that I disagree with your conclusion, but this is hardly evidence supporting your assertion. That is, unless you can point to more conservative Senators accusing Kagan of being anti-military?

Then you weren't paying attention. The Tea Partiers I know here knew exactly what we were getting -- a center-right independent. John McCain-esque. But that's what we needed to win in Massachusetts.

Of Course he's a RINO....... He's a Republican from Massachusetts ........ For that state, he's conservative. When you compare him to the rest of the world though, he's "Just not as liberal as everyone else there".

But we knew all that when he was voted in. No surprise.

True that. I'm hoping Jeff Perry gets elected to fill Delahunt's old seat. Then you might see a real conservative in MA.

He gained tons of momentum, nationally as well, because of the pending healthcare bill which he'd vowed to vote against. Just as someone said he's more of an independent (considering he's from MA that is), in fact those who know him say he's fiercely independent. He hasn't necessarily been voting along party lines, he's voted both ways depending on the bill. He's no doubt positioning himself for re-election as well.

He's always been pro-military so that's no surprise, in fact he's said so from the beginning. :confused2:

I meant to add: there's also something going on with Coakley lately-I *think* it's to do with funding. I don't feel like searching it ;) but our local news channel had some coverage on it.

    Marsha Coakley:

Marsha, why are so many of these illegal aliens invading Massachusetts?

    Marsha's Answer:
“Technically,” she replied, “it is not illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts.”

His campaign also played the Tookie Amariault trump card, how this poor "victim" was a victim of Martha taking a stance against this "poor" sex offender, who was convicted of sexual assault and is currently identified as a level 3 sex offender.. unfortunately the WRKO and WEEI Played this like a fine stradivarius.. paint "poor" Tookie as a victim of bad Martha Coakley..

Personally this made me sick, and unfortunately many sided with this "victim" even though none of his victims ever recanted their stories..
