More Americans believe in angels than humans’ role in global warming | Raw Story

Number of Americans who believe in climate change drops, survey shows | Environment | guardian.co.uk

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But a near-consensus from scientists doesn't have Americans convinced. The Pew poll found that while 57 percent believe that the earth's climate is changing, just 36 percent believe that humans are responsible. 77 percent believed that global warming existed in Pew's poll conducted in 2007.

The 36 percent who believe in human-caused climate change is fewer than the number of Americans who apparently believe they're protected by guardian angels, some 55 percent, according to a poll published in 2008.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Unreal....

"I don't believe in that science mumbo-jumbo....FOX News posted an e-mail form someone that said Global Warming wasnt real...who doesnt believe an e-mail? Those Climate Change 'Scinetists' are CRAZY! Which brings me to the reason I'm forwarding THIS e-mail to 20 people in the name of my guardian Angel...his name is Gary..."

    Its so fukcing sad....

    makes sense though...

Those who deny the science of Global warming, must think that the "Guardian Angels" will protect us form solar flares, magnetic shifts, or a warming atmosphere.

Because there are NO E-MAILS saying that angels are NOT real....

You screwed the pooch yet again, PF13. Keep trying though, and one day you'll post a real fact!

I never believed in guardian angels until mine spoke to me 20 years ago. And I'm dead serious.

    whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?????????????????????????

so you believe 3 emails that back up your view?...I get it now....

Now that you are into conspiracy theories, we should REALLY talk about 9-11. I have actual evidence of a coverup, and it snot just some esoteric emails that you can take out of context.

BTW, My Guardian Angel says you are wrong about this....and she looks like Big Papi.

31,000 scientist and engineers signed a petition rejection the beliefs of the CRU/RC/GISS cabal. There has been lots of papers refuting their finding including papers based on observation that the IPPC warming projection aren't happening.

I was already aware of that conspiracy theory....

I don't practice any religion Holy D. Religion is for those who want to go to heaven.

Faith is for those who've already been to hell.

HAHAAHA well a bunch of scientist signed it regardless of your spin.

I noticed no response to the article referencing the missing hot spot in the atm, osphere predicted by the modelers (in the IPCC report) that prove that warming in the 80-98 period had nothing to do with CO2.

I don't know man. Just make a new thread about it and I'll get to it in time. It's a full time job fact-checking your assertions.

As for your petition, it's full of fraudulent names:

Nice looking dude there HD! YIKES!

A person doesn't have to be "Part of "A" faith" in order to have faith. Being part of a particular faith means they have man-made rules & mores. I just have my own particular faith that works for me.

Without it, I'd take the credit for everything I'm able to accomplish and blame myself for all that goes wrong in my life. I'd have no way of reaching for power & strength I do not possess in times of need. That's kind of the whole "raison d'etre" for my faith in a nutshell.

I hate preaching and being preached to....so it works out.

Good point, HD, but not surprising since 45-50% of Americans believe in creationism, too.

50% of the population believes in UFO's.

51% of the population believes in ghosts.

21% of Americans believe in witches.

Just because a large percentage of people believe in something doesn't make it so.

Think back to earlier periods in time - for a good long while a large percentage of people believed the earth was flat - that fire was magic - that we'd never reach the moon - that radioactivity was harmless. The list of now-proven-wrong "scientific" information a majority of people once believed in is, well, is astronomical.

This is a stupid comparison. Who cares how many people believe in angels? A lot of mainstream religions, as well as some non-mainstream ones, have a belief in angels.

Now simple minded people in here (not naming any names) immediately conjure visions of guys flying around with wings on their backs. But in the real world, there are a lot who believe in the angelic beings or the 9 ranks of angels whose job it is to serve and worship the Good Lord as well as watch over humanity or, in some cases, act as messengers.

And all of that has absolutely nothing to do with MMGW so this is just another sad attempt at a distraction.
