This is the sport, though. I love it because it's exciting, but it's tough to argue that the rules of the game and the way they're called in the NFL especially do not encourage random, subjective officiating calls making the difference between victory or defeat. Which, given the number of games in the season compared to other games, can mean the difference between the Super Bowl and finishing out of the playoffs.

(Note that I also don't subscribe to the odd belief that the Patriots are somehow targeted by the subjective officiating... it's completely random, maybe slightly influenced by homefield, and it will help them one day like we saw against the Browns and hinder them the next like against the Dolphins)
