No offense, You're no worse than the so-called "draftmasters" who get paid to mis-evaluate from the comfort of their dens. Did any of you have Mankins in '05 AND Maroney in '06? Luckily for us, those in the organization who make the picks usually get it right. If you're having fun, party on. Just don't expect to have your hunches taken seriously.

Yea I did, in march of 06 I couldn' believe we'd draft a running backin at 21.

Yes, actually, Mankins was on my list for the 1st round in 05. As for Maroney, no, I didn't think that the Pats would take a RB in the 1st round. I also had David Thomas as a 3rd rounder last year for the Pats and had Gostkowski on my list, but in the 6th, not the 4th.

I think you missed the concept of this board. Maybe you want to take some time and figure it out.

If you feel that way you probably say the same for say a game of Roulette in a Casino -You are picking something you hope will lie where you say it will and gamble on the pick.

When you think about it the draft is a gamble,The best gamblers win,The losers go home broke and there are more losers than winners in the draft as well..

What's w/ the attitude? Many of us have fun doing the pre-draft analysis. For the record, I had Mankins in 05; RB, then Wr in 06 (though I picked Williams & Jennings). Look it up.

Exactly! Mocks have a little less margin of errror than a roulette wheel or a lotteriy.

Most of you know a lot more about eligible draftees than I do. But how many of you can evaluate the tangibles and intangibles of the best player from say, San Anselmo State or Hampton? And more importantly, whether that player can produce at the NFL level or fit in with the Patriots? Or what's going on in the heads of the Patriot brain trust?

You do understand this is a chat room (message board)?

I liked Mankins as a fit for the team, but I didn't expect him to get picked in the first round, at all.

I had Maroney as 1a, Jackson 1b, Bobby Carpenter 1c, and Richard Marshall 1d in '06. I still really like Richard Marshall. I almost put him ahead of the other three, but I was really taken with Maroney's running ability, loved his second gear, and vision.

Sounds as if someone is mocking the mocks.

Maybe I"m mocking the mocker of the mocks? If that is true, then everyone will be making a mockery of everything.

Somebody needs some happy pills

It's Actually scary how sometimes the draft follows alot of the mock drafts, almost like the GM's read this stuff.

Pioli was quoted in saying he does read these in an interview this year. Kind of hard not to when it is your job to research football players

As far as the Pats go I have learned to expect the unexpected, so after the draft I will scratch my head and say WTF are they doing, then in a couple of days starts to make some sense.. by the time the season begins, then I will call what they did genius. If they do what is expected, then my theory of the unexpected will just be another speculation, a la the draft experts.

Actually, a sh*tload of so called experts had us taking Maroney (Some of them had us taking DeAngelo Williams), I think a lot of us Pats fans didn't agree with them. I think their logic for predicting us picking a RB was because of the subpar year Dillon had. This year, most of the prognosticators have us going Safety & LB, they might be right. I find them interesting, but obviously they aren't always perfect. Only Pioli & Belichick know the truth.

Why even post this? Oh, by the way, my seven round mock draft will be 98% or better, so f you.

I'm sure you're willing to bet on your boast...

Three more reasons why mocks are crocks:

1.Some teams think outside the box with disastrous results (Browns, Raiders, Lions).
2. A few teams stun us with knowledge we don't have (Patriots).
3. Pre-draft & mid-draft trades.

Out of the zillions of mocks, has anyone ever had the first round in order (published before draft day)? Forget the whole seven rounds..

No, I don't think I have ever seen one in perfect order, and I don't suppose I ever will. But that's not why we do it. It's just a bit of fun, and I don't quite understand why you'd come on here and have a go about it?

Perhaps he's just pissing against the wind or just pissing......

Hey-I wasn't trying to be a grinch or put anyone down. No mas! I'll stfu & let you mockers have your innocent fun...

That would be kind of you.
