    Funny you should ask

On another post, I said that I hope the Pats don't draft Bing because he "..is an injury waiting to happen." Of course, I may be totally wrong, but we don't need another breakable part in the secondary (Guss Scott). But, I guess any player can take a helmet on the knee at any time. It's a crap shoot. Bing does have a great body for a safety. I don't know. I really hope they address MLB and RB. I don't know if Abdul Hodge is worth the 21st pick ahead of Thomas Howard. They say Laurence Maroney can't catch well out of the backfield, but Minnesota hardly ever threw to him. They just hand off, so who know. We need a great MLB and a franchise RB. OLB can wait till next year and with the low 3rd rd pick, there will be a pretty good safety available.

    Trade up for LenDale White

Or stay put for Laurence Maroney
    Or Thomas Howard

    #24 Jersey

I would have no problem with that pick although I'm starting to think RT at #21.

Darnell Bing is the best possible pick the Patriots can make in the first round.

After looking over the mock, im wondering where the hell Banks got his info for players height and weight???? Just a couple of days ago, Demeco Ryans weighed in at 6'1" 229 pounds. Banks has him listed at 6'5"....

Restricting myself to just the players listed from 21-32:

Leonard Pope - we need a number three to beat Fauria in TC and a number two assuming Grahambo gets raided in FA for 2007. Besides, he blocks and catches, out of the same system that Watson came from.
Mathias Kiwinuka - I'm not sold that he is a Pats OLB conversion, but I'm restricting myself to the short list so he is the next best value pick - he can join Green as a third down specialist if nothing else.
Broderick Bunkley - He has the tools to be a two gap, 3-4 DE even if he has been playing a speed game.

Finally a voice of reason. And if he's gone early, one of the CB's should slide.

I like Huff of Texas better, but if Ba-da-Bing is there at #21, I wouldn't mind us taking him. Good size, big hitter, decent speed. I wouldn't mind seeing him & Wilson as our starting safeties and Samuel, Hobbs & Gay as our CB's, with them fighting it out in camp to decide the starters. I don't ever remember Belichick ever picking a DB in the first round, either here or in Cleveland. Should be interesting, and one thing is for sure, we have NO CLUE as to who Belichick will pick at #21 (if we are picking at #21 for sure, who know's if he trades up or down).

Everybody does, but he'll be gone. I don't really like Bing.

Depending on negotiations with Graham, I would go OT or TE, given the mock so far. I doubt that Bing is on our board.

I'd like to see them trade down, if possible. Perhaps do something like they did when they traded with Baltimore. I guess the direction they go will be entirely based on how FA goes. Right now I'm on the Sinorice Moss bandwagon. I'm sure I'll be on another bandwagon in a couple of weeks...

Mike Mayock had some pretty damning things to say about McNeil on the NFL Network... that McNeil was "All-World" in terms of accolades but doesn't deserve it. I cant say whether he's right or wrong, and I dont know what he's basing it on... but for him to call McNeil out like that and separate him out from the rest of the elite OTs... I think he knows something.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think he drafted Eric Turner DB in the first round while he was in Cleveland. Also he drafted Antonio Langham CB.

Didn't Bing share time at SS with Ware???? Would BB take someone that high who wasn't even a FT starter in college?????

I've been salivating over the thought of a Ben Watson/Leonard Pope TE tandem. But I'm not sure I can justify using the #1 on a TE this year. But Pope looks like he could be in the mode of Antonio Gates. Un. Stoppable.

I thought Ware only played SS when Bing was injured. But the general impression I have is that Bing was their great athlete, Ware the leadership and "intangibles" guy.

Bing was definitely a full time starter.

I'll tell you what the only way I would pass up this scenario is if Lendale White is still on the board and we have addressed the DB issue in free agency.
