Minnesota court rules Democrat Al Franken won Senate seat - Yahoo! News

The Minnesota Supreme Court on Tuesday declared Democrat Al Franken the winner of a tight U.S. Senate race over Republican Norm Coleman, which should give Democrats the 60-seat majority they need to overcome procedural obstacles and push through their agenda.

    ...

Coleman has said in published reports he is unlikely to appeal the state court's decision to the federal courts. Under state law, the court's decision gives Franken the right to occupy the seat, which has been up for grabs since last November's election.

Minnesota Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty has said he will certify the election winner based on what the state court decides.

Gross, but I'm glad it's over.

I agree. Pawlenty needs to act today if possible. I am just sad this retard got in. Minnesota always elects screwballs anyway.

Say what? How would they learn that from this, when they tossed out absentee ballots, and counted others where officials decided who the voter intended to vote for. If anything we learned that the entire process is grossly managed, and that too many people can't even figure out how to vote. That being said, I do agree with you about being glad it's over. I'm kinda curious to see how Franken handles the job. Will he be an honest person who exposes the diarea that is US politics, or will he be like most who get there, and simply become a schill for their party. I'm hoping Franken is what I think he is, and that's honest. He can't be any worse than Coleman. Or can he...doh!

Pawlenty has always said he'll do what the law tells him to do. Quit making it sound like he's caused the delay, this has run it's course and he'll do what he has to do. No need to bring Pawlenty into this.

Good, they deserve him, I feel sorry for the people that didn't vote for him.

I wonder if he'll use the "F" word on the Senate Floor....:singing:

Not my intent at all, so do not assume.. cognizant it did not have all that much to do with him, but he said previously when the court rules he will act... so act.

It just happened this afternoon. Jeez. You guys need to start Palinizing all the potential GOP candidates, so this is a good place to start with Pawlenty.

And when they don't, and competent progressive Senators take office and threaten the war initiative, they're killed off in convenient plane crashes.

I do hope Wellstone is smiling down on this one. It was Norm (and the GOP majority) who benefited from his curious death.

Franken went to Harvard while Coleman attended Hofstra (whose most famous alumnus is Wayne Chrbet).

So if there is a retard here, it is the one who didn't get in.

What is funny here is that both Franken and Coleman were native New Yorkers.

Nothing like going from a disputed election to going to crazy conspiracy theories to get the heat off the actual underlying discussions

I have no thoughts, other than it seems that Coleman got the short end in the process.

Neal Boortz, though, definitely has thoughts. THE FUNNY GUY WINS MINNESOTA
