One of the dumbest moves I've ever seen in modern sports history...

Jered Weaver: Sent Down Despite Strong Performance

Update: Weaver was sent to Triple-A Salt Lake with Bartolo Colon coming off the DL despite going 4-0 with a 1.37 ERA in four starts with the Angels.

Sometimes you have to temporarily move a player you don't want to to avoid losing someone else depending what options said player has left. Or maybe he IS a dumbass. What a dissapointment the Angels have been this year!

    #24 Jersey

How do you know it was Scioscia's decision ? I think what you're actually seeing is the Angels wanting Jeff Weaver to have a couple of decent starts so they can trade him and then bring Jered back up.

Oh sure, the GM was involved. But Scoscia had to check off on it. He'll be back up, but messing with a prospect like Weaver's mojo after the start he had is foolish. He's pitched about as good as anyone in the majors over the last few weeks. They should have sent Kevin Gregg and his 5.0 ERA back to Salt Lake.

No more of a waste than the "Paris Hilton vs. some other no talent bimbo" thread or the "Cat up the tree thread".

But thanks for playing, Ill be sure and post at leat 3-5 baseball threads a week just for you.

That's a good question. From reading the LA papers, it was one of the options listed for Scoscia before he demoted Weaver.

    Sooner

You realize that Scoscia is not the Angels' GM, right?
