I currently live in Seattle and my family lives in Mass. They just called and said that it was reported on the news that BB is being fined 500k out of pocket and 1 and 3 draft picks. Any truth?

I was unaware that the league could specify who has to pay the fine.

I recall a poster on the board saying they could not take a 1st round draft pick away cause it would upset the rookie pay scale guess that is wrong.
I'm fine with the 3rd but a 1st as well GD MANGINI!
He really screwed the Patriots here that lil weasel I hope the worst for him but not his family just him.

I will be absolutely furious if this is true. It will prove Goodell is nothing but a puppet to the mob. He is NOT his own man.

A fair punishment would be a 4th and 200k. How is this violation worse than what the Broncos did (violate the salary cap with Elway), especially if the video was for after the game and not during? For cheating the salary cap, the Broncos only lost a 3rd that's it.

Their quote is :

"In addition to the fine, the Patriots must forfeit two high draft choices. They could be as high as a first- and a third-round draft choice, sources said."

Which is hardly definitive. I've said for a while the league will try to stop us somehow - this is how - but we still have a pick in every round even if this is true. Plus the best team.

I do not really care about the money or the third round pick. I do not think very many of our picks made the team.The first round pick hurt. We still would get the 49ers pick.
