Thats right and the Mexican government or Mexican people for that matter should shut their effin mouth about it.

They're called the NATIONAL GUARD for a reason.

Turd, ELOrocks, either of you signing up for the National Guard? After all, you're probably for that solution since it's a lot cheaper than using tax dollars to hire border patrol agents. Let's work our National Guard to the bone. They don't need rest; they don't need leaves; they don't need their families; send them from Iraq to the border (it will seem like a vacation); and, besides, now that Katrina has passed, they probably don't have enough to do! The NG might be a good stopgap measure, but it's not a solution.

By the way, on related note:

    http://www.suntimes.com/output/osullivan/cst-edt-osul25.html

"For instance, in the years 1995, 1996 and 1997, there were between 10,000 and 18,000 work-site arrests of illegals annually. In the same years about 1,000 employers were served notices of fines for employing them. Under the Bush administration, work-site arrests fell to 159 in 2004 when there was also the princely total of three notices of intent to fine served on employers."

Of course it's not a solution, it's not intended to be. It's window dressing to appease the ignorant and troublesome masses. Neither party has any intention of securing our borders.

What has changed since the mid-90's? What has INS or homeland security now, been focused on since 9-11? Arab terrorists? So the focus shifted from searching out companies with undocumented workers to schools teaching terrorists. Now the Mexican border should be secured with any resource available including the National Guard, you don't want them in Iraq and you don't want them securing their state border, so I ask what would you like them to do, just work their weekend duty once a month?

The more I think about it, I think we should assist the Mexicans in their endeavor. When they file the first suit, we should just conquer Mexico and change the venue to Mexico City...much closer for them.

I agree--we could probably conquer Mexico with the Delaware National guard alone.

Have you ever heard of Los Zetas by any chance?

They were taught by the Navy Seals how to fight, and kill.

They were trained to stifle the gangs. They in turn, were bought off by the Los Zetas gang for much more money then the government of Mexico would pay.

    They don't hesitate to kill.

If I lived in the southwest, I wouldn't exactly be laughing too hard.

You should just exchange "Mexico" with "Iraq". Another quagmire this country doesn't need. We would be in a lot bigger fight with a country of 100 million or so directly on our border. Your logic is illogical.
